I walked and walked while I lived abroad and was in pretty good shape until I fractured my kneecap. When I returned to the US, I drove and babied myself and walked less and less as the pain became more severe. I had surgery the beginning of September and barely moved for 3 weeks and then was on crutches until a couple of weeks ago...I went in for physical therapy and decided to step on a scale and freaked. My lethargy and US way of life had taken its toll. I immediately joined a fitness center.
I started working out 2 weeks ago. 30 minutes 6 days per week and went on a strict diet of no sweets and bad things...candy...chips...scone...ice cream. I lost 6 pounds so far. Today, I had a fitness assessment with a private trainer and nutritionist. We meet starting Saturday for an hour twice per week for 6 weeks. My goal is 20 pounds in eight weeks. Wish me luck.
He's putting me on a 1300 calorie per day diet and 1 hour on an eliptical machine at a Heart rate of 140 for 5 days per week and 3 days per week on weight training for an hour. My goal is to have a body like Madonna. Let's see if all the hard work will be worth it. He says it's doable.
