Priscilla--about an hour ago, I jumped back to the 1st page of introductions so I could read yours, and started reading every single one---"meeting" so many of the people with whom I've been sharing posts for the past few weeks. How fun!!! I had to interrupt my progress so that I could jump back here and post to Denise's and your posts before i have to get ready to leave for the morning.
I loved your comment about being in newspapers and law---it's true---there are lots and lots of journalist and lawyer jokes, none of them flattering, LOL!!! What aspects of newspapers and law were you involved in?
I can't believe I just sort of fell into this board while wandering around in the cruise links. Right away, I sensed an atmosphere that seemed so different from other places I had stumbled onto.
Since Alaska and the Canal are probably going to have to be 2 of my very limited cruise possibilities due to my flying phobia, I hope to be able to meet many of you on those cruises....I'll probably be a frequent repeater!!!
It IS hard to work CPS (especially in my field of specialty) and not become cynical. But I feel that I really can do some good, so it's worthwhile. Dependency Law is fascinating...I have to have a pretty good understanding of the Welfare and Institutions Code and Penal Code(Calif) to do my job correctly...I swear, if I weren't already in my 50s, and/or if I had unlimited money, I'd drop everything and go to law school. But the truth is, I'm a born detective and I love investigations for that reason.
I sure hope I get to meet you and so many of the other wonderful people from LCT on an upcoming cruise. Liz
