Margo, I am not saying the people of New Orleans did anything wrong. I am saying that the politicians in New Orleans did many things wrong. The politicans new the storm was coming. They knew that many of their residents didn't have the werewithal [sp] to evacuate. They also were afraid of legal ramifications if they ordered a mandatory evacuation (that is why they didn't evacuate on Saturday) and liability if they ordered the hospitals evacuated.

I, like Lawrence, believe that the local authorities let down their constituents. I totally understand why so many were either not able to or refused to evacuate.
