Urgent plea from St. Bernard Parish

Polly Boudreaux, clerk of the St. Bernard Parish Council, issued an urgent plea Thrusday morning for help for the devastated parish.
Boudreaux, breaking into tears during a telephone interview with WAFB-TV in Baton Rouge, said the parish is wiped out.
"We're just been absolutely devastated,'' she said.
Much of the parish remained underwater, she said, and efforts to get news out have been unsucessful. And many residents still needed to be rescued.
"St. Bernard has been rescuing St. Bernard for days,'' she said.
She said little outside assistance has been able to reach the parish.
"We are not seeing it. We need help,'' she said, her voice cracking.
Boudreaux said shelters set up at Chalmette High and St. Bernard High School for people not able to evacuate Katrina, were underwater and heavily damaged. She said those staying at Chalmette High, over 1,000 people, had been evacuated to an area at the St. Bernard Port.
Food and water is having to be rationed, she said.
She was not clear on where those at St. Bernard High had been moved.
She said parish government officials are holed up at Chalmette Refinery. The parish government building is underwater.
She said parish officials have made pleas for help from the outside.
"It never came,'' she said. "We just never saw it.''
"Everybody is in need. Everybody has just been wiped out.''
DESPERATE SECURITY SITUATION IN RIVERBEND
Spoke to my uncle this morning (Thurs) in Riverbend near Carrolton and St Charles. He and several (elderly) residents are holed up there and the security situation is getting desperate. Heat is extreme and there are roving gangs of looters with guns. The looters have also commandeered a backhoe and are ramming homes. My uncle and the others have no info about the evacuation. While Leake Avenue and River Road are dry, they are afraid to leave as they fear they will be shot, carjacked etc. This is a desperate plea for help as this is so far from downtown. We are trying to call everyone we can but of course the phone doesn't work. If someone official sees this, please send help.
Story: I just talked to my neighbor who stayed behind at Camp and St. Mary. He walked along Jackson St and saw dead bodies everywhere from gun shoots. After coming upon two dead girls, probably around 12-15 yr old, he had to get out. Where is the national guard? We need help.
These are not reported by media. I cannot find on CNN, MSNBC, or FOX. I have not seen a single report from/concerning St Bernard or Plaquemine Parishes. Nothing about the 9th Ward except that it is flooded.
FEMA has now stopped all boat rescues because of safety. Coddling of criminals at the start has led to this; anarchy. If you don't have jauls, you cuff them to trees or other fixed objects. If no one comes back to move them, they are no worse off than all those waiting to be rescued who cannot be rescued since it is too dangerous for the rescue workers to work.
