I need a name for the 2015 Safari. In the past we have used ROAR, ROAR 11 and ROAR 111, TUSK, WILD DOG, LION, LEOPARD, and RHINO I hope I did not forget one - so we need a NEW animal reference.

Remember the maximum letters we can fit on a pin is really eight. Less is better but we can do eight. Any larger the letters get hard to read.

So come up with some brillant suggestions there will be about 44 - 50 people in three separate groups (not all defined yet)

I'm not even on this one, though being on the first 2 "original ROAR" trips were the experiences of my lifetime. Heck, I was the one responsible all those years ago (what, 2004?) to convince Ngaire to take us. hahaha, we sat on the balcony in her cabin in the Diamond, I think in 2004? we were on a Black Sea adventure, and it was my "job" in this planning group of 5 to get her to take us to Africa. omg, we had done so much research but didn't know where to go next~

She tells me, hey, I'm a Princess, I've done that stuff. I've been in those tents, and I don't like them. I don't like bugs. I've hunted way more than you know (then she told me she hunted in Texas, hell, I don't know what they hunt there, we hunt mostly deer and ducks and geese here). But she didn't like bugs. I said, but these are not tents, they are cabins, free standing buildings!.

And she says, "well, maybe I have to check them out". Thank god she did, at great expense to her company, by the way. She ran into many companies along the way, but she finally said YES, I will take you~ I will never stop thanking Ngaire for bringing all of our dreams to fruition.

Hahaha, the first time we entered Singita, one of those cabins, there was a tiny little snake to greet us. The housekeeper shreiked, I called the desk, and the ranger came and showed us the tamest little creature, but took him away. As much as I hate critters, I came back for Roar 2. Among my best trips EVER!

This is a hard choice! No matter what animal, they are alll special, for sure~

Ok-- I recited this whole thread to Alice since she doesn't read the luxury board. I innocently asked if she would like to submit a name. She never has before, although she had the key word when i came up with ORCA. She said ELEPHANT. I said, Ngaire would like under 8 characters . She said, but I like elephants . I said, ok, what does it stand for? In about 45 seconds, she came up with:

It just cements the idea she knows we love "the best". I'm looking forward to my fall trip on Regent with MARINER. Our pre-cruise is to cappadocia, looking for great adventures there as well. Those of us on this one need to report back to everyone!

Hey Marc, you just came up with another animal, OSTRICH, and then my OWN entry Big 5, already entered above yours. Or did you notice? I say we form an alliance for BIG 5. What you say on this? lol, we were both on that first one together, likely a better name from the get go. lol, if I knew how, I would highlight parts of this message and really try to promote us.

Now these are some GOOD names I cannot choose! This is going to be a difficult vote. I get excited just thinking about it.

Cindy we sent out an email flyer some time ago on the 2014 escorted trips and the 2015 waitlist for a safari was on that flyer to give everyone a chance to sign up.

The problem with Africa is so many want to go and on this 2015 list there were 67 names. To take that many people I would have to be down there for two months. I cannot do that. Everyone thinks it is a one time trip but they keep wanting to go back. So the repeat people alone could keep me going down to South Africa for years.

Groups that go together often want to rebook with the same group again and that makes it difficult to fit in new people. I have tried doing multiple groups at the same time with one of the other BK staff as an extra host but for many reasons it just does not work as well and a logistical nightmare as well.

I took 63 people one year chartering planes all over the place swapping camps. Nothing went wrong but it was way to difficult to co-ordinate. I will not do that again.

On this safari I am having to say NO to about 27 people and they are on the 2016 waitlist along with others.

Can I do another one since Marc had CHEETAH first?
