As usual, Ngaire has hit the nail on the head. When I consider a European cruise, the first item I look for are the ports. At least two that we have not visited. And then, a 10-12 day cruise. To travel so far from the U.S, and only spend a week there is not in our 'logic book.' I have met Mr. and Mrs.Conroy a few times. I suggested a 2 day stay at those ports which lend themselves to extensive sightseeing which cannot be accomplished in a day. For example. Livorno for Florence, Pisa, the Tuscan hills.
