billp1, we had similar experience - after Tom became ill he had to follow a limited diet and when we returned to Compass Rose for meals they would bring him what ever he requested, but as someone else mentioned perhaps the limits of La Verandah made a "yes" more difficult.
I admit we never really push the envelop - always guessing that anything within reason is possible - and a club sandwich doesn't sound too demanding, even if someone has to go down to the kitchen to get it!
