Richard, not sure what your friend's deal is, but sometimes these time shares can get you properties at many places around the world. I have a friend with a time share in Key West who we went with to Ibiza several years ago on her allowance, or whatever you call it. It was a nice property, maybe not one I would have rented, but hey, I wasn't paying!

As I think has been noted, this island is not prone to hurricanes, that I remember when I was planning. Richard, all of us get into personal messes now and then!
