Thank you for posting that really captured who Joanna really was and I am glad I got the opportunity to read it since I was not there in person.

I am someone who met Joanna on a cruise and approached her because of her uplifting posts on LCT. While we talked, we shared information about the big "C" and Joanna was truly an inspiration. Our conversation quickly turned around to Tony and the way he was quitting smoking (chewing on that mouthpiece). She was a riot and, despite the topics, our time was spent laughing.
Because we were sailing with other people, we never did have the dinner get together that we talked about. However, the Joanna I met was so perfectly described in the Remembrances I felt that I should post on the board. May all of your memories keep on being shared.

Thank you, Olivia, for posting about the service. It has been overwhelming from an emotional standpoint. I don't understand how people can give orations, as I never could.
I'm vulnerable now, I guess, as DH passed on May 30 and I wish somehow we'd recorded the eulogies given by our 2 sons, friends and the minister, also a friend. Just making arrangements for out-of-state gravesite service was enough, I guess, that it didn't occur to us.
Thank you again,
Another Kathy

Another Kathy, I am am so sorry for your loss.
Fortunately, we have Ray from this board who has made that wonderful video we can visit any time for her.
Carman, your post is just one more that adds credence to other observations of our Joanna. I am so glad you had the chance to meet her. I will miss her so much. Olivia

Another Kathy - so sorry to hear of your loss. Although we have never met, I have come to know you thru this board. My thoughts and prayers are with you as you walk this path, a difficult one at the very least. I hope that the support of your family, and your memories of your husband will give you strength and peace.

Valerie and I were both saddened to learn of Joanna's passing. We will always remember her as the charming, outgoing and warm person we met years ago on our Auckland cruise. Our condolences to Tony and the family.
