Does anyone have the name of a good transfer company from the airport in Rome to the downtown hotels? Thanks for your help.

Mark,

We're using RomeCabs. They come highly recommended. See you on MARINER.

What's the best transportation from Istanbul to the Intercontinental (Taksim Square area) ??

We arrive Oct. 3 @ 3:45 on Turkish Air from Frankfurt, anyone else arriving around then?

We have just booked on GONDOLA and will be spending three nights in Rome at the end of the cruise. Any ideas for hotels there that are well-located and not insanely expensive?

Thanks for the suggestion for RomeCabs, as we will likely use them to get from the port into the city and then on to the airport after our stay in Rome.

Love Rome Cabs! I highly recommend Relais Al Senato, a lovely bed and breakfast (all en suite) off of Pizza Navona

We always stay at the: Hotel delle Nazioni Rome.

http://www.hotel-dellenazioni-rome.com

It is directly behind, and to the left of the Trevi Fountain....Wonderful to be able to see the Fountain without crowds.

You can walk everywhere from here(maybe not to the Forum, unless you are a true walker) and the restaurants are numerous.
We loved having diner in front of the Parthenon a lot of the nights we spent there.

Italy is my favorite country in Europe and cant wait to get back to Tuscany again soon.

Have a wonderful time!

Cheers

thumbsup Pat & Ray - Thanks for the recommendation for the Hotel Della Nazioni in Rome. It appears to be a very good choice. A few minutes ago, I made our reservations there for the 3 nights after our cruise.

Cheers, Fred

Fred, we have also stayed at Della Nazioni several times. We actually became such good friends with the night manager that we attended his wedding in June:) One room that is particularly special is on the top floor, with a huge terrace overlooking Rome. I don't recall the room number, I know there are a few with terraces.

I have stayed at The Inn at the Spanish Steps.(www.atspanishsteps.com) It is run by Karina who used to be on Diamond and Navigator. Her husband, Danilo, was the keyboard/acordian player at Don Vito's and the Navigator Portofino's Italian restaurant with Jerry Vasi. (Luxury but small.)
I have booked Bob's Limos for transfer between Fiumicino airport to Civitavecchia port on November 2nd. Will let you know how it goes.. Cost 71 Euros.
