We leave in the morning for our North/South adventure on the Navigator from Vancouver to New York. Looking forward to seeing lots of crew friends onboard and some travel friends along the way . We head North to Alaska first then turn South down the west coast through the Panama Canal and back up the east coast. Love this trip because there's no jet lag -- just temperature changes smiles

Sorry, Jim, we won't be there. We're doing this cruise instead because we were just in that area earlier this spring. One of these days we'll be on the same cruise at the same time!

Got to the ship yesterday with no problems and started seeing friendly faces right away. It feels like a family reunion on this ship. We had dinner in Prime 7 last night and the food was excellent. I had a small filet and it was the best I've ever had in Prime 7. We're at sea today headed North to Alaska. The weather in Vancouver was beautiful, but today it's a little cloudy and turning cooler. But we're prepared (even Jerry is prepared). Looking forward to this whole trip.

Hi Peggy (and Jerry). Fred and I will be following your cruise with interest. We board Navigator in NYC for the trip to Montreal.

Peggy/Jerry, Pat/Fred,

Can we expect Seamail?? It's been in short supply lately (overall.)

Thanks,

Pat, we thought about staying on to Montreal and now wish we had--it would be great to see you.
We're having a wonderful cruise even though the weather is somewhat cooler than what we're used to at home (at least 40 degrees cooler!). Jerry is being really good and not complaining about it too much. We're in Skagway today and mostly just enjoying the ship since we've been here before several times. We'll probably get out and visit the Red Onion a little later today.
The food has been great and so has the service. Even though the ship is full, it doesn't seem crowded at all. I love this little ship, but do miss the Coffee Corner on the Mariner. We've seen several whales and a large pod of porpoises along the way. Many people have seen bears on their tours, but we haven't. Tomorrow we go whale watching in Juneau -- looking forward to it.

Peggy, we, too, wish you had stayed on to Montreal. It would have been wonderful to see you. I'm surprised your cruise is full since it is a repositioner. NYC to Montreal is DEFINITELY sold out. We've received a dozen offers to switch. But that isn't in the cards for us since we will be cruising for the first time with friends of 30+ years we've never traveled with before. At the end of the cruise we're going on to Toronto and Winnipeg to visit friends. I'm glad you have Jerry tamed!!!!

Glad service and food is up to standard! We haven't cruised for a couple of years (land trips in Vietnam-Cambodia and Northern India), so we are really ready to indulge.

Another Kathy, we'll definitely post some sea mail, particularly if something newsworthy comes up. My guess is most readers of this board have already done NYC-Montreal. So "newsworthy" might be hard to come by.

Look forward to it, Pat. Our first Radisson cruise in '04 was Montreal-NY on Navigator; most enjoyable. It's always interesting to read about what others do in ports.

We're headed South after several wonderful days in Alaska. We did a couple whale watching tours and saw humpbacks in both Juneau and Sitka. We also saw lots of cute sea otters from our boat in Sitka. We had a beautiful day there -- lots of sun. Otherwise the weather has been kind of cloudy, but not that cold. Today we're at sea headed to Victoria --it's grey and dreary outside with intermittent rain. Fortunately the rain held off in all the ports. The food on the ship continues to be outstanding and we're enjoying visiting with lots of familiar crew. If the rain goes away, we'll visit Butchart Gardens in Victoria tomorrow. We've been to Victoria before, but never to the gardens, so I'm looking forward to it. Next stop will be Astoria, Oregon--a new port for us.

We had a gorgeous day in Victoria and the gardens were spectacular. Tomorrow we're in Astoria, Oregon to catch up on our Lewis and Clark history -- then another sea day. Love those sea days!

We spent a delightful afternoon yesterday with Peggy and Jerry.

Had lunch at a "pop-up" New Zealand restaurant here just for the America's Cup a couple of piers away from where they were docked. The weather couldn't have been better! It was almost as good as the company!!

We're loving this itinerary and the chance to see friends along the way. After leaving San Francisco, we're at sea for a couple days on our way to Cabo San Lucas. I wish we were making a few more stops in the U.S. -- maybe Los Angeles, we have lots of friends there! I'll just have to make do in the next few ports by feeding my Mexican food obsession smiles

I really love seeing pictures of LCT get togethers. Those happy smiling faces and it amazes me all the wonderful friendships we have all made over the years.

Yay, we're finally warm! A beautiful day in Cabo San Lucas, but the Captain tells us we're heading into the edge of a cyclone tonight. That should be fun. We had a great lunch today with Captain Daniel Green. Unfortunately, he leaves the ship tomorrow in Puerto Vallarta. The food continues to be exceptional--maybe too good sad.

Peggy, it sounds like a wonderful, relaxing trip. Welcome back to the warm weather. You mentioned the food on the Navigator. When we were on in May, we thought the food was as good as any we had experienced on a Regent ship. Glad to hear that you are enjoying it too. Who is the head chef now?

Peggy - I heard from Jan (bartender) that he boarded in San Francisco - if you see him, please tell him howdy for David and I! Also, I think maybe Tara Clancy (bar supervisor) might be on board, as well as Franco (dining room supervisor). If so, please tell them howdy from us! Wish we were there!

Priscilla, the executive chef is Augustine, the pastry chef is Kevin and the Food and Beverage Manager is Ricky -- obviously a great team. Cindy, I'll say hi to Jan when I see him. Tara apparently isn't coming on until Ft. Lauderdale and Gami is the dining room manager until New York--I'm sure you remember him from the Voyager. We had a nice day in Puerto Vallarta yesterday. Today is a sea day with some rain and clouds but it's beginning to clear up. Two more stops in Mexico before we get to Costa Rica.

We're continuing to sail south off the coast of Mexico and Central America. The weather has been warm with some rain, but still very pleasant--not too hot. Tomorrow we'll be going through the Panama Canal on our way to Cartegena. If anyone wants to check on our progress through the canal, you can see us on the webcam www.pancanal.com. We'll be going through the Miraflores locks on the Pacific side around 8:30 am CDT and making our way through the rest of the canal throughout the day. No matter how many times I've seen it, I'm still fascinated with the Panama Canal--can't wait to see it again.
There's lots of Australians onboard which has made this trip very enjoyable -- love those Australians!

Lee, you're absolutely counted in there! Wish you were here.
We're about to dock in Cartegena after a beautiful day transiting the Panama Canal. It's kind of cloudy out today, which is probably a good thing--it gets kind of hot out in the sun. Ola, Columbia!

We spent a wonderful day with Doug and Andi in New York on Sunday. We had a nice tour of their neighborhood and great cherry pie at their beautiful home. Then we all went back to the ship for dinner (our last one) on the Navigator. Unfortunately, we had to leave the ship yesterday and now we're back home. This was one of the best cruises we've done -- we loved the ship and the itinerary. The best part was seeing friends as we sailed down the west coast and eventually back up the east coast. I think we'll do this one again!

We love visiting friends in ports along the way too, kind of feel like you're having multiple vacations. Maybe Ngaire will consider your great itinerary as an escorted cruise?? ....count us in !
