Even better deal at Aloft Plano (if you're older) You pay $99. for the first night and the price of the remaining nights is the last 2 digits of your birth year. Call 1-866-716-8143 and ask for "Birthday Year Promotion"

It sounds like the Aloft Plano is turning out to be the best deal. Good rates, has a bar and lounge and close to Ngaire's house!

GOT IT - one time I'm very happy with last 2 digits of birth year! Sounds like it'll work for a group and you can't beat the price - and I think they have HAPPY HOUR

We booked the ALOFT too - we stayed at a Hyatt Place in Albuquerque last year one night before we had a really early flight. It had recently opened and the staff were terrific, but they didn't have their wine and beer license yet, there wasn't any "gathering" place and the food was basic fast food. It was nice to have the extra space in the room but the ALOFT looks much better suited for a group.
Not sure if we will fly or drive over to TX.

I think trying a group rate at ALOFT is not necessary. With the specials you are finding I think you all do better on your own. This is probably the best choice SO close and if we do Billy Bobs easy access for the bus off the main freeway between my house and Aloft. Honesly no more than 5 minutes.
FRIDAY NIGHT Regarding Billy Bob's -thanks Karen for checking this out. Next week June my sister from NZ. is coming for a visit so it will be a very busy week for me. She leaves the day before I leave for SEA to SEA.
Travel time my house to Billy Bobs. 44.4 mi 55 mins 1 hour 20 mins in traffic
TIME FRAME just FYI Leave my house or ALOFT at 5.30 pm to 6.00 pm Arrive Billy Bobs at 6.30 to 7.00 pm Private room cut the noise - 2 hours for dinner & dancing (or watching dancing) close by. Bull Riding 9.00 pm Departure 10.00 pm Arrival home 11.00 pm.
If the majority of people are at ALOFT then we may make that the meeting point for the bus rather than my house.
Bull riding is great to see if you have never seen it. We used to take guests in Dallas to bull ring about 30 minutes from my house. It is closed now but visitors enjoyed it.
OTHER ATTRACTIONS There is a new mall close by too that is really lovely. The shuttle will take you there from Aloft for those who are interested. About 3 minutes from my house.
DOWNTOWN - West End - Kennedy Museum etc. Straight shot down the tollway - travel time no traffic on the weekends about 35 - 40 minutes.
SUNDAY Think on either Sunday Brunch or no set plans Sunday during the day and an EARLY farewell dinner on Sunday at a restaurant called the KEG. They have a private room that would work and this is where we usually go if we go out and take guests. They are a chain some of you may have tired this restaurant before.Again in shuttle distance from Aloft.
We can finish that dinner with AMARULA and SAMBUCA , or whatever drink you fancy at my house. Aloft and Hyatt Place are so close we can shuttle you either to my house or back to the hotel pretty easy. OR any other restaurant anyone finds that takes your fancy. Just keep it close.
We wont need both Brunch and dinner!
Karen you are in charge - MISS SOCIAL HOSTESS, MODERATOR AND BIRTHDAY GIRL ALL ROLLED INTO ONE
After discussion, pricing etc you could post a poll for the POPULAR choices.

I'm booked at Aloft. We arrive in DFW at 2:30pm on Friday, return to Florida in the late afternoon on Monday. Looking forward to a wonderful weekend - and count us in for Billy Bob's too!
Editing to say I just saw Marcie's post so I'll be calling Aloft for the "birthday" rate! First time I'm happy to say what it is.

I booked Arlene into Aloft. I was able to find a 50% 2nd night so she was able to get four nights at a total of $266 (89+44+89+44). The code is ZBT.
She is arriving Thursday night to party with all those that prefer not to fly on Friday the 13th. :D
edited to add: Warning: This is a non-refundable booking.

There will not be any "official presentation". This is not that type of function. In January we did show the dry dock video of the Voyager and the Mariner and everyone liked seeing that but that was the extent of anything formal. No sales pressure etc, Regent is too classy for that. People left with a little bag of Regent material and a coupon for an offer for 2010 cruises.
I asked for Regent to host the party I had in January at my house and make it more of a "thank you" than anything else. They said yes and it was a big success. We had a lot of fun and people met each other and actually a lot of people did book from that party.
So when people posted "we would have come" after the posts from the January party were on LCT, that gave me the idea of opening it up to people outside of town. So I approached Regent and asked if we could do it right at the time the 2011 schedules would be available to us. They should be coming out just at this time. It is always exciting when the new schedules come out to consider the possibilities.
There will be a special offer for 2011 cruises for those at the party (and I am sure I can get that extended to anyone that will be sailing on a Regent ship and therefore they could not come) It is NOT A BIG offer but something at least. I have no idea what it will be.
This is a way for Regent to say thank you for your business, and to get people excited about the new schedules and hopefully book cruises for the upcoming new cruise year.
Regent has never forgotten MUSH that had that long waitlist that was filled the day the cruises opened.

Not sure if we will fly or drive over to TX. Leslie, American now has a non-stop from Santa Fe to DFW. We took it a few weeks ago and it was great. No more driving to ABQ! It's only 1 flight per day but they may be adding another flight soon. Also, if you are Gold or Platinum on American you get free drinks and snacks on the flight.

That's what we will probably do, John. The route has proved to be a good one for AA and they are adding a second daily flight, I think right around the dates of the party, and they are also adding a daily flight to LAX.
Hard to imagine that a state capital is just now getting commercial flights - it is a long political story!

I just called for the "Birth Year Promotion" I don't think the individual I talked with knew what he was doing - my reservation says $99 per night - but of course nights two and three should be less - does anyone else have their confirmation? I may need to call back and rebook.

Diane - just so pleased you are coming. Who ever thought we would see each other again so soon? Wish I had been in WI today. Michael Bolton is the "Music by the Lake" summer series performer at Lake Geneva tonight. For those who haven't sailed with Diane - she (and her sister) are fun and fabulous. Great addition to this party for sure!

Yep Margo same thing here, I changed our rate and the confo says 99 per night, but it also shows the BD promo and apparently once we show our ID and they confirm that we are that old, then the other two nights will change to that rate.
God, I love having to prove I am so old!! At least I think I do.

When I called about the birth year promotion the base rate was $139. At that rate it really won't save us much. Did you have to do anything special to get the $99 base rate?
Edited to add: I answered my own question. When you book you have to use NBR as the promotion code and nothing else. The web site defaults to special rate plan "payage." You remove the "payage" from the "Special Rate Plan" window and put NBR in the window above it that says "Promotion code."
A bit complicated but it got the base rate down to $99. By the way, the reservation must be made in the name of the person whose birth year is being used for the discount. Tom.

Tom, same thing happened to me when I tried to book online, except I never figured it out, and called instead. I got the base rate of $89, which is what they show for the promotion.

Ha ha! The energy of this group is electric. Haven't seen or felt this level of enthusiasm about getting together since my teen years. I'm having as much fun -- well, almost -- reading about the plans as I would if I were going too.
Sure to be a swell shindig. Looking forward to reading all about it.

80 Olivia? Or did you mean 99? I called yesterday and changed our AAA rate, and it took awhile, but finally the agent was able to find it, and it made a difference for sure, but then the older you are the better in this case. :app: :app:

JoAnn, I have gone from "Best Rate", to "AAA" rate, to "Birth Year" rate, saving everytime I canceled and re-booked. Not a big deal, but I just noticed others have said $99 for first night, and I got what the website says:
First night: $139 weekday and $89 weekend Second or third night: rates equal to your birth year! (If you were born in 1948, you'll receive your 2nd and 3rd nights at $48!)
2bits, we sure do have fun together, thus the enthusiasm!

Interesting Olivia, sounds like you got a really good deal for the first night. I'm not telling yet what our second/third night rates are, but they are lower than that!!! LOL. Not by much though and I did have to actually remember my real age, not my current one! Will check it out, either before or when we check in for that first night.
