I hope Karen will do a separate thread for each one. I think it's too confusing to have just one for all of them. Love the entries so far, but have an early preference for VIKING, since I'm on that one!

Andi, PAGOTA is nice, but can you find another word to replace the T? and put in a D for PAGODA? That would say so much about the cruise to China and Japan, like PANDA last time and it would be perfect! It is more difficult now as we name cruises. Used to be things like PIP, MINT, VJ7, VOF, DDD and others that really said nothing about where we were going.

or

Party Adventures Going On Discovering Asia

Both are PAGODA

As soon as I get home, I will start a separate post for each cruise so you can submit your names, then we will start the polling! With all this time to think, I bet we will come up with some doozies!

Karen - are you borrowing Joanna's nom de plume, petlover?

I think we have a separate post .. we need to aggregate the current choices! I'll work on it.

Cheers, Anne

LOL Anne, I think we all DO use Marcie's log in! Do we have a seperate post for each cruise? If not, maybe figuring out the entries for each cruise won't be too hard?

Karen

Karen - we do have a separate post. I'm copying & pasting in the stray entries for when you get home.

Have a Sambuca on us!

Anne - For Hong Kong to Singapore, maybe we should try to make the name more geographically-specific (although I love CABARET), since the new rules seem to be getting more and more exigent regarding cruise-relevant names. How about CHINOIS - China, Hanoi, Indochine, Navigating On Into Singapore. Of course, any reference to that lovely film, "IndoChine", is worth a try, no?? Cheers, Fred

Fred - CHINOIS is masterful. I confess I'm not up to speed with the dual requirement for geographic symbolism coupled with a pithy acronym phrase. I'll move CHINOIS over to the 'name this cruise' section. You've got my vote.

I plowed quickly through Frommer's website looking for something succinct and recognizable re: Vietnam. TONKIN or MEKONG were top of the heap. THIT has no potential to be a hit. As for me, life is a CABARET!

A bientot, Anne

Anne - I don't know that there is a rule about the acronym being relevant to the cruise; but many recent acronyms have seemed to create that impression, as Olivia noted above. Of course, only Mama Superior sets the rules. In any event, CABARET is very good. Cheers, Fred

Olivia - another worthy entry! I will cross-post to the thread so sweet Karen can run the voting polls upon her return from Lamb.

Fred - Agreed - it's an unstated strong preference to work in the geographic angle to the pithy acronym phrase. CABARET is my best shot.

Cheers, Anne
