Sitting here waiting for our 9:30 pm Air NZ flight. We have Premium Economy seats upstairs so I'll let you know how it is. We inquired about last minute upgrades to business but when they quoted $3300 pp we said, "We don't have to lie flat to go to sleep."

And, we've upgraded to 1105 Penthouse A. :app: :app: . How about roving cocktail parties? Joanna, Marcie and Michele, can't wait to see those Horizon Suites.

Looking forward to seeing old friends and making new ones. I'm so excited that I'm about to jump out of my skin

Yes JimB, we are on Air New Zealand 8 pm flight on 11/29. Seats 29AC I think, in Premium Economy (wanted to get upstairs but they said it was full).
By the way, we have flown Air New Zealand Business Class when we went to Australia last year to judge dog shows. Those lay flat beds are wonderful with the comforters. I have a hard time sleeping on planes, and I was out for a full 7 hours on that flight! So enjoy!
Since it is one way I think we'll enjoy Premium Economy and with all of you on the plane, why not?

We are on QF 26 (AA 7337) leaving on 11/27 arriving on 11/29 and spending 2 days in Rotorua area. Will be back at Sky Tower on 12/1 but having dinner with friend from many years ago that lives in NZ on Saturday night. Looking forward to seeing all on 12/2 and dinner that night. We are on van 1.

Well LCTers, I just cancelled my Quantas flight .We were unable to reserve business class using our FF's so had 2 economy seats 70A&B at the back of the bus. After reading here about Premier Economy on Air New Zealand I called them and low and behold they had 2 seats on the 8:pm flight on the 28th from LAX,so making another executive decision,
I booked them

Pat, ANZ gets the award for my favorite all time flight! It might have a lot to do with the conditions at the time since the flight was way under booked but I have never been as comfortable or unclaustrophobic (is that a word??) as on my ANZ flight.

Greetings from Nelson, NZ. Our flight on Air NZ was great. I think you guys are going to be happy with Air NZ. Premium economy seats in the upper deck, so I can't remark about lower deck PE. We had 22 h and k, emergency row and right behind those wonderful lie flat beds. We boarded with business passengers and from what we could tell, had the same service. Enjoyed that glass of champagne before take-off. Upstairs was quiet and my only complaint is the premium economy seats are not the most comfortable. There is a foot rest that lifts up slightly and of course the seat tilts back. I kept pushing buttons hoping the seat would miraculously stretch out into something flatter. No such luck.That's ok, I was tired enough to sleep ok. The flight was quiet although somewhat bumpy and food was fine. At 9:30 pm flight, the dinner is light but who needs to eat that much food when they're going on a Regent cruise?

We met our guide, Robert, at the Nelson airport, and are about to have glass of port with the owners of Shelbourne Villa B&B where we are staying the next two nights. This is going to be a great week.

Don't have very fast internet so will post about the weather here rather than going to that thread. Karen, today, Nelson is sunny with a slight breeze and about 70-something degrees. Off for a seafood dinner tonight. Life is good!

Nelson, a lovely part of New Zealand. Have a wonderful time and so nice you to post and let us know you arrived safe and sound.

OH MY! 22 H & K are suppose to be our seats for the flight we are on.

Ahoy there, Mates! 2nd LAMBer's greetings from Auckland! Flight down was smooth & really like Air New Zealand. Only problem was a very delayed flight out of LAX. Supposed to depart at 8 p.m. We were finally shuttled to Int'l Terminal at MIDNIGHT :( . We took off at 1 a.m.!!(Equipment problem from London flight....) The saving grace was we were able to sleep so arrived 12 zillion hours later in fairly good shape. Drug doggie found my apple in my carryon bag (while we were waiting to claim our luggage) that I had forgotten about....almost got a $200 fine! Mercy. We're at the Hyatt Regency & then renting car enroute to Rotorua & Huka Lodge.

It's WARM! Mid 70's to 80. No rain today.

YEAH!!! Safe and sound M&D! Can't wait to see you! Joanna

Find it interesting when you check weather reports on line they show maybe 60 degrees and overcast. Sure nice to have an on the spot reporting weather person! :banana: :chicken:

So glad you made it there, Michele and Don! I am DYING to hear your take on the Huka Lodge! That is supposed to be one of the best properties in the world, and all about relaxation! How far is it from where your flight landed, and how do you get there?

Hi everyone. I'm in the ANZ lounge at LAX. 8 PM flight delayed, so I'm on the 9:30. Don't know why, but I see Michele had a problem also. This is one fine lounge. I had to buy a day pass but well worth it. So 2 of our group have arrived. I must be next. It's been quite a day with extra weight of luggage being the biggie. And not being able to find my cruise documents at the ANZ check-in here, but all is well. I can honestly say I've been up close and personal with the terminal floors of Houston and LAX. :D The excitement builds. Now I'm off to check out all the food and drinks this club offers. I definitely need at least one glass of wine.

It is getting really close for Jan and I.
Waiting for her to get home put the last second things in the bags and hopefully out of here about 2:30 for our 2.5 hour drive to Billings tonight. Want to get there before dark as the deer are terrible this time of year.

Bags are packed, limo here at 4:30 am tomorrow and pet nanny will be here too for the dogs. So excited. Weather looks good to travel cross country. See you on ANZ and in Auckland. Looking forward to meeting everyone.

Just an aside, for those in Auckland who may read this.You probably won't have time to watch TV, but just in case, the local TV2 ,will be playing the "Amazing Race Asia" on Saturday night at 7.30 which features Auckland as the destination and has a segment at Devonport.
