I wouldn't be surprised if we didn't have a number of aquaintances in common, being that we are from the same city(give or take a mile).

busy night at pool bar with muster drill and all as we sailed from dubai it amazes me the number of passenegrs that refuse muster drill as if it is a pain!!

this is a law for all our safety and with them not doing the drill could affect safety of others as well

we will arrive back in oman in about two hours
and this time we have 11 hours instead of only 5 like last cruise

met some more people from past cruises and there are more smokers on board yeh!!!!

though i do want to stop

but then i also want to stop martinis!!

hello from teh 1st sea day again!!

we are now on way to india
oman was fantastic and very surprising very very clean !! i wish i knew how to load soem of these fantastic pics!! oh well need karen to train me!

my wife as usual closed voyageur at 3 am and i was in bed at 10 pm old age i guess!! or the 8 th martini not sure which!!

but this portion of cruise seems a lot more party people and a few kids aboard due to christmas i guess

i also found out that regent offered people to get off cruise only to end up with 2 empty cabins!!

the cruise consultant mike is fantastic and he is busy all day long

i will warn you all that regent will be sold out for next year very very shortly
so if you wish to experince regent book it now!!!

they are and always will be the best for us

today they even told me they went out and got canadian beer for me
just what i need more booze!!!

we arrived yesterday and it is fantastic weather for india last time here was too too hot and today is very comfortable

a great place to walk and see the sights and sounds of honking horns like going back 50 years

this is not a clean city but it is full of people so you are safe with exception of lots of beggars!!

you cannot give them anything as their radar goes up and all their buddies shopw up!!

it is amazing to watch the traffic movement at such a fast and wild pace and never an accident
if you drive here you can drive anywhere

went on a private tour to see a few things yesteday and not much has changed since last here 25 years ago!

same taxis same buses and more people lots of people!!!

we sail today at 3pm and will have christmas dinner in compass rose

this cruise is getting better and better so much fun with the crew paul and cody sre wild as can be and santa visited yesterday in the show room

the food is fantastic just wish i could share the pics with you all!


we have 5 more port days then a sea dasy
it was 85 today in the shade
i can only imagine what it is like in summer

the bartenders are great the booze keeps flowing and i am in bed at 10 pm

now my wife closes the bar with my 82 year old in laws who dance and party all night then up for breakfast

we actually lost them yersterday as they got in line and left ship just having fun!!

we went to crew bingo where my wife drew names fgor 2500.00 in cash for crew mambers

it was at 1130 at night and i suspect every crew member there to say thank you


it makes it so worthwhile

so in india again tomorrow and new stop again for me will update


ps our tour today was with derrick a regent barteneder on holiday made tour went to his house and had lunch

another regent employee going 110%

he wanted nothing but our company!!

but i would not allow that

had lunch and tipped 20.00 and waiter was shocked

i then found out monthly wage is 50,000 ru8pees

about 100.00 total

trafiic here is crazy as with all india
the weather is now in the 90s
went on a tour today which was hell tour guide had no concept of time

the streets of india are like going back 50 years plus with old cars and buses but still a fun place to visit

rssc is now giving double nights for all cruises over 10 days so that you make the next level of seven seas society faster but what does that do to the ones that got there the hard way

if they reallt want to give every more benifits they should just do it

what will titanium mean when everyone hits that level???

the bar has been very busy this cruise but the staff are still the best

very very hot here today and we sail at 3 pm

tours were ok but still not much here

why is it that people want a harbour cruise
when your ship is in harbour already??

we had an incident that a deck chair was left with some belongings and someone took t5he deck chair holy war 3 !!! man these 2 women wow

i amk going to recheck re double days not a sif an issue to us as we are well over 450 days

Hey Victor, Too bad you didn't take the tour of Kerala while in Cochin. The boat ride is very different from a harbor tour. It was amazing to see how the people lived on the waterway.

i did take that tour and it was very nice

we went to another castle and then to jew town

and then the boat and yes you are right you do see things differently than if on shore

as to seven seas society nights i did double check
and it applies to all onboard bookings over 10 days

we will arrive sri lanka at 10 am and are there all day
this is a new place for me so i am anxious to see this country

other than the chair it is mostly quiet on board with the exception of daily laundramat isssues

one day left then the big party as we lose yet another year

yeesterday was extremely hot and everyone was

tired or hungover !!
the port tour was to a beach !! with 7 dollar beers gled i didnt go

i guess now with 2 sea days before thailand time to start the packing and arranging the gifts we bought and other crap you dont know why you bouight it

went to compass rose last night and teh kitchen must have been hung over

the worst long dinner ever

food fine but just the waiting was terrible
and if you going to show you are in trouble
hope fixed by tomorrow

going to prime 7 tonight with captain and staff captain so tonight should be great

again teh seas for the last month and a half have been very very calm

never have i seen this for so long a period

ok off to a martini another thing i will miss
when back home and back to work

had dinner with captain and staff captain in prime 7 last night best meal ever!!

and even more fun as my in laws are italian as both officers so a very funny table with italian jokes( i dont speak italian)

yesterday wa sfu8n deck at pool deck as fights broke out over lounge chairs again!!

some peopel had two and others moved in all directions even to the point of blocking pool bar
no one cared they even mopve the only chairs from smoking table without a care that peopel wanting to sit and smoke!!

then the rain came for a minute and a redistribution statrted

alraedy today it is starting again

time to do more packing as the end is coming
crew kapers tonight is the big signal
i wish i could continue but i must do some work at come to justify this trip

also note no smoking in casino at all starting jan 6 2012

as a smoker i respect others that do not like smoke
but please leave us our little corner and the conisour lounge is not the place

so it leaves pool bar and aft of ship

maybe regent can haul a dingy behind or beside ship
so we can enjoy our bad habits !!as i can bet you it will be 100% no smoking very soon

i enjoy the restrictions as it limits how much i smoke but please allow me a little

also note if you go to doctor she is very nice and carefull
i went to just get some pills and ended up with blood tests injections and the pills and 3 days of breathing device twice daily

give me a break i am on holidqays and will smoke and drink and deal with it at home !!!!!!

again now reaching 500 days with regent i can honestly say i dont know what another cruise line could do for me to change so therefore probably never will
everything on board is subjective to ones own tastes so i fully understand why people move back and forth but they look after me at all times

for example prime 7 always booked and i have my agent in thailand coming for 2 nights thailand to singapore and with ease got a table for 6 in prime 7 last night of cruise well??

my mother is law is short and needed a foot stool and ship carpenter built one that not only did we use in compass rose but also to get on and off your buses

just a few things that stand out

ok will go back to pool bar and watch the crazy show of people moving the chairs

Victor, I will miss your updates! Very interesting about the casino smoking. Guess it was time for it to happen, that room is pretty small.

The bad thing about not allowing smoking in the casino is that my husband will probably spend more time there if there is no smoke!

Victor, your trip has gone way too fast but we've loved hearing all about it. Makes us miss being onboard. Thanks for taking us along. Safe travels home!

sorry didnt update sooner but long day !!

thanksfully my unlaws have someone to look after them as i expect maybe 2-3 days under oxygen

let me say also say regent went all with tests and transfer by amulance

once aware not coming back 6 people assisted rosanne with packing

and when she cam back to ship she had a get well card from the crew


they all cried as i left

Oh, dear, Victor--please hurry and get well soon. I am thinking (the doctor part of me) that the combination of all that pollution in India plus your smoking habit was just too much for the lungs. Hopefully they will get you fixed up very soon.

so so right just hot hot persiraging on face and inability to breathe !!

but regent did very very well and i can say the hospital in phuket is better than some of out first class hotels back home!!

i had lots of oxygen and other stuff plus injjections and now in singapore all well as can be


i think i will stop smoking for now and maybe forvever lets see how long i last


so to all a good end to 2011/my 60th/2011 xams and news and hope to meet all in 2012
