Losing hi speed internet access is a serious problem.

Due to a wind storm, we've lost phone and cell service for three days. Soooo quiet. Priceless!

I have a backup dial up in place. We have cable, but, I still have my AOL with ability to dial up. I won't post when that happens, but, at least I can still read and get client email.

Whoa...hold on a minute..your dsl is down and you're posting from your cell phone?!?! I don't get it (though I don't get most technology more complicated than an alarm clock!). How do you post from your cell phone?????

Poor Karen!! You might have to just go shopping until this whole awful ordeal is over. :)

Here I am....sort of! I had to wait for Mark to move the computer desk so I could hook up the dial up internet. This is about as fast as my cell phone! At least I can type using capital letters, UNLIKE my cell phone!

My email is still downloading, it may take all day! That's ok, I don't feel so cut off from the world now :)

YEAH glad you are back - my daughter was instant messaging, on her cellphone today, with her brother in Hawaii - it amazed and baffled me!!! We're all sitting at a volleyball tournament in Jax and she is talking to him on a beach on Hawaii's north shore - Joanna

OK I have bored so many people with this story - we have been at a volleyball tournament for 2 days in Jacksonville - granddaughter from Gainesville, Fl plays on an incredible "young" traveling team girls are ages 10-12 - have 2 or 3 ten yrs olds who are little itty skinny things - they beat all the 12-14 girls in the state of Florida today - some of the 14 yr girls were 5'10" etc - my granddaugher is their star server and spiked the winning point when game was 23-24 - now on to the big games in Orlando - sorry if boring but boy we had great weekend!!!

Oh Betty - we were beserk!!! Her parents do this every weekend and then on to softball - we love being weekend participants as grandparents - God gives you your children when you have, hopefully, energy and stamina - we are out of both on regular basis - Joanna

I am going to be so old if and whenever I have a 13 year old grandaughter that I won't have the energy to toddle up into the stands! What a GREAT weekend Joanna! I would be beaming if I were you!

Did y'all SEE where that 62-year-old great-grandmother had a baby ON PURPOSE?? To provide a sibling to a 3-year-old that she also had ON PURPOSE??? I am unashamedly wild about my grandkids, but I also appreciate the fact that I can give them back to their young(er) parents when I'm worn out. That woman is nuts.

Saw that and "SAY WHAT???" 5 grandkids here at Christmas (ages 1-9) and was exhausted just watching their antics and they weren't even staying at the house!

Congrats, Joanna, to your granddaughter!! Seeing Amanda's parents, they'd do the same thing if Marika had accomplished anything similar. :) As you might imagine, volleyball is a big thing in Hawaii.

JoAnna, how'd I miss this? Congratulations. What talent. We have some terrific VB teams here. Venice and Santa Monica Beach has so much VB activity going on all the time. So much fun to watch when your own is spiking!
