Some people only fly one airline so having that one card to get miles may make sense. In our case, we fly various airlines....AA, Delta, NWA, etc. so it's better for us to have the flexibility to work with various airlines. FJORDS we're flying Delta Biz Class and 100% of the miles needed came from AmEx Starwood. Next trip we may be on AA, Continental, Luthansa or who knows what airline. From time to time we use Starwood points for hotel stays but we primarily use it for f.f. miles.

Like most LCTers, we're now in the habit of chargin 99.9% of everything....need those points!!
