After the reviews by Denise, Pat and Priscilla there is really not much to add! All in all it was a great cruise that, as usual, went too fast. It'll be difficult to do a 7 days cruise again! ( although we are booked for a 7 days Mariner Alaska ).

Some other highlights were:

- Atrium dance party (unfortunately too short. They were afraid of keeping some of the
passengers awake)
- Skinny fries (Thanks Pat for introducing us to this "delicacy")
- The guitar of Frankie "Dahling" Holiday
- Being able to dance to the song "Shout" twice on the same cruise!!
- Attending line dance classes

Regrets:

- Not taking the Lanzarote/ camel ride excursion
- Not playing at Kathy's black jack table
- Not learning how to play pooch ( Peggy, what happened??? )
- Not having my picture taken with Captain Hanssen the night we had dinner with him ( my mom is upset about that)
- not being properly dressed for the "Block Party". I was somehow misinformed that this was a "come as you are" kind of event. So, at the sound of the bell, I came out of my cabin wearing my robe. To my surprise , everybody was wearing their formal wear for the evening!! I quicky retreated to the safety of my cabin.
- Not finding the right size (ie. diameter) pole to do some serious pole dancing.
Editing to add:
- Not going to the espadrilles store in Barcelona

Like Pat, I looooved the westbound crossing. Gaining an hour every day or two was way cool. Going eastbound cuts down on the hours of fun.

I'm now signed up for the 2012 Westbound Crossing . It doesn't matter what the ports are or where it leaves from. I know it sounds distant, but I notice some people are already talking about cruises they want to do in 2010, so 2012 is not that far behind. I hope that most, if not all of the CROSSERs will join us in this alumni reunion and that we will have more LCTers join us!

Maria I would miss the block parties if I were properly dressed (too early) - I never miss them regardless of my attire -

I think I saw pictures from prior LCT cruises where everybody was in their robe! So that's what I thought I was going to find. Imagine my surprise when I open my door, wine glass in hand, and I see a sea of black tuxes and fancy dresses! I guess I was too shy!

They always announce "come as you are" - I will admit I was shocked to see 99% dressed to the nines at 6 PM! My naps ends at 5:30 PM!!! But I hate to miss a party :rolleyes:

Maria, I hope to be with you 2012 come hell or high water! I am dying to do another crossing, and westbound would be great, gaining those hours, and touring first!

Maria you can count us in for sure on the 2012 crossing! We really had a wonderful time and as you say a reunion cruise would be the ulitmate (throwing in more folks from LCT would be even nicer)! :lct:

That's great Sue! I'm sure by the time 2012 rolls in many more LCTers will have joined in!

Maria, for the record, I had copies of the Pooch scoresheets with me on the ship (Ngaire kindly sent them to me in an email)and asked a few times if anyone wanted to play, but I guess we just never got around to it. Also, I guess I never asked you if you wanted to play--too bad, it's a fun game. We'll play in 2012.

As you know, Alan and I are on for 2012 crossing. It would be terrific to hold a CROSS renunion at that time. Touring then crossing is THE way to go. The west is best! Shall I start working on our excursions now? I bet Katarina would be amazed to know how many people are so eager for her to graduate!

Sure wish we had time for pooch, Peggy. Sixteen magnificent days seemed to fly.

And it's never too early to start planning those excursions ;) . Although I hope they change the ports some so there is added incentive to do it. I wouldn't mind going back to Funchal. Loved that island!

Hey Denise...if you are going to offer excursions during the actual crossing (like you did this year) PLEASE start them later than 6 a.m.! :eek: Tom and I really wanted to get in on a few i.e. the walk on water one was our favorite, but we just couldn't drag our butts out of those comfy beds that early! ;) :D

Plus, in 2012 we will be a year or two older and will need more rest!

Maybe you could do one that includes free egg salad sandwiches! :hug:

You know, they say older people need less sleep. By 2012, many of us may be up and ready to go by 3:00AM!

With this group, it won't be hard to keep the CROSS REUNION 2012 thread going until embarkation day! And, with the waitlist growing, we might even be able to charter one of the ships!

I hope they stock the ship with plety of egg salad and ice cream along with a few bottles of Grolsch beer!
