I found the post that I confused. On Nov. 2, 2006, Larry 1365 mentioned the fee of $531.

That's the ammount, but it was subsequently removed from my credit card by ZVS. (I had mistakenly included the credit card info in case a "rush" was needed and it wasn't.)

It still seems somewhat excessive, doesn't it?

McKeever -- Here was the actual breakout of what ZVS charged Regent:

Brazil Tourist, Multiple Entries. Validity at consulate discretio. Standard. New York. USA.
Service Fees $ 96.00
Gov't Fees 220.00

China, People's Republic of. Tourist. I Entry. 6 Month Validity. Rush. New York. USA.
Service Fees 96.00
Gov't Fees 100.00

Shipping: UPS 19.00

Total Fees $531.00

And we really didn't need the rush for China...

Larry,

Is it $531 per person or for 2?

The totals were for 2...we didn't pay, Regent did...we mistakenly were sent the bill.

Ardis, hope you and Stan have a wonderful journey. Now, about the Bon Voyage gift, what was it?

I believe someone said that the 2005 gift was a copper bell. What was the 2006 gift?

We received a beautiful clock yesterday that looks like a port hole but is actually a wall clock. For 2005 WC we got an engraved brass bell in a nice mahogany wood box.

I thought the bell was for 2005? The clock is a nautical clock made of brass and is lovely.

I don't think we got a gift prior to the 2006 WC cruise like the clock or the bell . .

We were on the Voyager for Christmas/New Year but Elaine will remember.

We did get nice pillow gift each segment though. And I agree Ardis, the parties in strange places were fun . . . :)

On the Grand Asia Pacific we received pillow gifts, had invitations to dinner in unexpected locations and many of the things included in the WC and for the life of me, I cannot understand why it is not as popular as the WC. To me, the itinerary is wonderful. Asia is an area of such surprises and unusual cultures.

Well, the packing has begun! The lovely "Miss Lynn" has her clothes hanging all over the place and our dog, Buttons, has gone into complete depression. Less than a week until we depart for FLL and we look forward to seeing lots of old friends. I think there are @ 400 aboard that we've cruised with before; maybe more. Should be fun. I only hope that my bum left hip will hold out for the cruise and that I'll be able to dance. Otherwise, Miss Lynn will not be a happy camper. Will have the hip replaced in the Spring. Hope everyone has a safe trip to FLL and that we have fair winds and following seas all the way; at least to CPT where we get off.

I'm thrilled that Manila has been added. This will be so special for the crew to be reunited with their families!

Yes, but the early morning stop at Corregidor has been deleted. The departure has been pushed back...many in the crew should have a great time with their families.

The last time I was to Manila was just after the fall of Marcos. I was traveling as a press aide to Sec of Defense Weinberger. He was the first US cabinet offical to see the new Pres. Aquino and we had hundred of "somewhat upset" folks banging on our armored Broncos...somewhat exciting.

Doubt we'll get that sort of reaction this time.

Bon Voyage to all the WC'ers! We look forward to meeting up with many of you as we are on Segment 2 (CPT to SIN). I'm sure we'll find you in the nightclub or the bars. LOL. Have a wonderful Segment 1. And, Larry, keep us informed thru your journal. We are looking forward to it. Linda & Larry (Ste 920)
