Oh how I wish David and I could do the full circumnavigation! Especially since it's the last year they will be able to cruise Antartica. But, we just cannot be away from home that long right now (we have a couple of elderly parents still living). But this cruise is definitely on our to do list.

We will, however, be on Segment 4 in 2011 - Rio to FLL.

Sorry, Marcie. Better take Al and me off the list. We've beat the subject to death, as there will be lots of good people aboard. However it would cause us to miss virtually the entire season with our friends here in Florida.

Increasingly often, we'd like to be multiple places at the same time!

Marcie, if all is well, I plan to do the 71 days on the Mariner if you want to add me to the list.

David and I have decided to take a chance and sign up for segments 2, 3 and 4, so we will hopefully be on from Lima to FLL. We are celebrating our 30th anniversary (yes, we are just newlyweds!!), so we thought we would splurge on this cruise, especially since it's the last time the ship will be able to cruise to Antartica. Keep your fingers crossed for us that all works out okay with our families!

Well, on our recent Voyager cruise to Iceland and the British Isles, we met several World Cruisers who had also done the full circle of SA, and many were planning to do it again in January. They conviced my DH David (I didn't need convincing!), that we needed to do the whole thing (thanks to John from Hawaii for being the most convincing!).
So, we are officially signed up for the full circumnavigation.
I am so excited! I hope we don't hit any snags and all stays calm in our families. Add us to the "FULL" Marcie!

Wow, Cindy, that is great news. Can't wait to read all your seamail. In the next 5 years, I hope to circumnavigate SA, too!

We're in 824. Not necessarily a location I might have ordinarily chosen, but when we decided to sign up, category F was the lowest category we could get and there were only a handful of cabins left. It's a little close to the stairs and elevators, but I'm sure it will be just fine.

I am just so happy to be going on this trip, I don't really care where the room is!

This will also be our first time on Mariner.

Cindy, I lust after those cabins close to the elevators. Honestly, you will never hear a thing, and on a long cruise, walking up or down a long hallway everytime you want to get to your suite is a pain. Just think of coming up to pool deck and forgetting your hat or sunglasses and the many other times this might happen. Hop on elevator, and you are THERE I think you should count yourself lucky!

Sounds good to me!! I'm ready to give it a try!

On Voyager, we always stay in the Horizon view suites, simply because we love the view from the balcony. But, it's such a long walk, sometimes I think we will NEVER get to the room, expecially after a late night at the Observation Lounge!!

Marcie, I just noticed today that 753 became available so I switched to that suite so I could listen to what is going on in your suite. A word to the wise. Elaine

We will join you but only from Buenos Aires to Rio. We too have commitments at home to elderly family. Looking foward to this bried getaway though. We are thrilled to once again have our regular suite: 988

I think I've got the updates...Happy to add you Becky & John. Welcome to LCT !!

Unfortunately, we had to cancel our South America cruise today. Tom has had some back troubles and it was just too iffy being so far away for 2+ months. I guess until he's recuperated, we'll have to stick with shorter cruises. I'll be traveling with you in spirit !

We were excited to be next door to Elaine too...whoever gets our former cabin will sure be lucky!

I'm happy to continue monitoring the roll call so keep posting with any changes or additions.

Marcie, I am so sorry for you and for Tom, but I am also selfishly sorry for us. We will certainly miss you! Maybe we should quickly book Fun2? Glad we'll see you on Tut though. Hope Tom is feeling much better before too long! See you soon!

marcie, we are so sorry to hear about Tom's back. It will be sad to miss your reports on the South American circumnavigation, but I agree with your thinking. I'd not want to be far away and have a back episode or more.

hugs, anne

Marcie, Also sorry to hear that Tom's back did not improve. The wine at dinner a few weeks back should have done the trick. I also love the new picture. It is a cutie.

Thanks guys...there will be more cruises in our future so this cancellation won't be a set back for long.

Ralph, Karen is the one who found this new photo...I realized my old one looked like my younger sister (if I had a younger sister). Yes, wine should have done the trick huh..Lord knows it wasn't for lack of quantity.

we'll cross paths on a future cruise.
I hope Tom gets to feeling better soon.

Linda,

There are quite a number of people who normally do the WC doing South America in 2011.

I don't know how many of them read LCT or CC and some who do, may not - for whatever reason - want to add their names to a roll call.

Hi Folks:

Carolyn and I will be on the full 71 day circumnavigation of SA. Our cabin is 1073.

While this will be our 25th cruise since we started cruising in 1984, it will be our first time on Regent.

We look forward to meeting all of you and the folks from CC.

Jackie ~

are you sure you weren't right the first time when you listed 818 as your cabin??? I only ask because I know of another couple who are booked into 905 and I didn't think all four of you were sharing! LOL <img border="0" alt="[naughty]" title="" src="graemlins/naughty.gif" />

That would be me, Linda, and we all know (from the "other" board rc) how good my memory is. We are not in 905, but in 955.

Anyway, hello everyone, this is my first post on LCT as I've just discovered it! We're on the Jan 11 FLL-Lima segment - our first Regent cruise. Looking forward to it!
