Sheri, so good to hear from you--we really missed you! We aren't on FUN, but we are doing a Caribbean trip on the Navigator Feb 6. That one worked out much better for us logisticly. If you can't do FUN, join us :)

Now that everyone should have made their "FINAL PAYMENT" I thought I would add another column

I will SO miss this group, as for me, it had to be turned into a trip to take one daughter to visit the other one in England for Christmas this year! I hear from trip advisor that one of the towns we will visit, Bath, has a Christmas market just outside our hotel! 3 Abbey or something like that. My daughter who lives there is arranging.
I will really miss the boat here, not getting so see and be with some of my very favorite lct friends!

Unless they redid the Yankee Clipper, you don't want to stay there. It's old, tired and dirty. We stayed there before SAND.

Kathy, I got it with points, it will be fine for one night. I won't be there long enough to notice, I will be on the beach during the day and out to dinner at night, then off to the ship the next day :)

Just thought you'd want to know. Wendy felt the same way. The carpet was really bad and we were upgraded since I am Starwood Preferred Gold. Regent put us up at the Embassy/Doubletree which was nicer. But I completely understand FREE.

I have stayed at the Yankee Snipper as we call it many times, it is older and does need work, but it is the only hotel on the strip that is actually on the beach. We stay at the Atlantic when we go to FLL now but for one night it is not too bad, great spot and the Harbor beach Marriott right next door for some good dining.

Kathy, most of us are Starwood Preferred Gold, since we have the Amex Platinum card. We got upgraded at the Atlantic for that reason, when we stayed there last year.
When Mark and I got married nearly 28 years ago, we had an office in Ft. Lauderdale. The Yankee Clipper was fairly new, and was quite a sight. I don't want to stay there now, though.

Sometimes SPG Platinum and Gold members get upgraded to the suites at the Yankee Clipper, I have had suites there a few times and they have been updated. It is very hard to stay in one of the suites and then go back to staying in one of the regular rooms. As an SPG Platinum member after staying at the Atlantic I would have to side with Pam and say if I had the points to use I would go for the Atlantic, but then again the W opens March 1, 2009 according to SPG.com

Karen, for one night I think you'll be just fine and as Pam said...most of us are Starwood Gold so you may get an upgrade. You and Mark are such beach people, I think you'll love the location.

We need to report that we have cancelled FUN. I won't be able to take vacation in March. We were sure looking forward to getting together with so many friends; both those we have met before and those we have yet to meet. We look forward to our future LCT cruises starting with C2C this summer.
