Should I try to book my shore excursions before sailing on the Voyager World Cruise? I would like to go to Xian to see the terra cotta warriors and know it can be pre-booked. Also is it worth the trip to Ankor Wat? Or would it be more fun to do the Orient Express? Or both! I assuming the regular excursions can be decided on board. I know a lot of you set up your own tours so am open to suggestions. 55 ports is a lot of planning.

Oh my, Paul. What a wonderful "problem" to have.
I haven't been to Angkor Wat, but know two friends who went and raved about it. It was described to me as an absolute "must see".
Enjoy - I really envy you this trip. Hmmm...only 15 years, four months, and 14 days to retirement.... but who's counting. :)
Have a wonderful trip and please post as often as you can. Lots of us living vicariously through you and Petlover (Marcie).

Hi Paul,
You may be more aware than we were, but those pre-bookable excursions were open for booking in APRIL, and some have already filled up. We were interested in The Taj Mahal and Cairo trips, and when I tried a couple of weeks ago both were sold out. Fortunately we've now cleared the wait list.
I just simply hadn't paid attention to how pre-bookable they actually were, and almost lost out. Personally, I'm not too worried about the 'regular' excursions.

I got wait-listed for a pre-cruise in New Zealand, which really surprised me because leg #2 is no longer available except for full WC'ers. Got off the list not long ago. I also booked for the 2 night excursion in New Zealand that goes across to Queensland and meets the ship at Milford Sound. Ngaire (who is from N.Z.) had told me this was an excursion I HAD to take.

Angkor Wat is exciting but if you decide to go there, you miss the overnight in Bangkok which is also interesting if you have not been there before. I am sure whatever you decide to do, you will love.

Paul, if the Abu Simbal and Cairo shore excursion is still available, I would highly recommend that trip. Abu Simbal was one of the highlights when I was in Egypt.

I didn't realize you could sign up for these so early! We looked through the book and decided to sign up for the Abu Simbal and Cairo (see King Tut's tomb and private opening of the Tomb of Nefetari). Unfortunately, it's sold out so we're on a wait list like you once were Betty. I hope we clear too....

Got cleared on the xion trip and the E&O train trip on Voyager WC05. They have not closed them yet. Also got the info on the Bon Voyage party in LA. Getting excited here. :)

Great news Paul! Today we were cleared for the trip to Cairo and Abu Simbal. We were only on the waitlist for 1 day! I'd like to look into your Xion trip too.
Congratulations!
Marcie
