Do the cabins on the Voyager have flat screen t.v.s and what type of plug -ins? My husband just surprised me with a trip from Athens to Ft. Lauderdale for our 40th. We were on the Voyager for 1 segment of the World Cruise last year and can't wait to join the fun. Ardis, maybe we can help with trivia. We did OK on the Mariner this past February.

Yes, we all have flat screen TV's with interactive choice of 211 movies on demand. It is really great. We would love to have you on the Trivia team again! We lose four of our members in Athens so the timing is great but I must admit, Stan and I are just not sharp any more so be patient with us. I don't know about the plugs.

Thanks for the information about the flat screens since we still work we have to be in contact with our offices. I'm glad you have room for us on the Team. How many people are scheduled to be on the final segment? I know that Chuck and Linda (WCers from last year)are joining. We met them last year at the 1PM games. I think Donald got the idea for the final segment from Chuck when we received an e-mail last month. See you on the 13th!

We are on the last leg of the World Cruise and also good friends with Chuck & Linda. We went to visit them recently in Palm Desert and sure had fun. Jan & Harry Hufford, Mike & June Gittings are also on the last segment. Last year I was on trivia team with both Linda & Chuck and Jan so it'll be fun reunion.

No, Madam Curry has not been on board. We have a chef from India and he is much superior to Madam Curry. She just seemed to be interested in selling her expensive packets of prepared spices.

Ardis,
(This is Don typing) When you get a chance would you look at the front, sides and, if possible, back of the flat screen tv and let me know if there are any jacks or connectors. If they are could yoy give me a rough discription like "round hole with white" or "rectangular and about a half inch long". I am trying to figure out if I can use the tv as a computer monitor.
Thanks
Don

I mentioned a few people who are on the last segment from Athens to FLL but forgot to mention the Welden family (Charles & Mary, and their 2 kids Kathleen & Nicholas) They were on the entire WC in '07.

Marcie, I remember the wonderful pix you posted of this family on the 07 WC! Glad they are aboard again, and it would be nice if they posted here!

Back to the original question about the TVs...
I was on Voyager in December-January. There are no inputs on the front -- which surprised me since so many people have computers and/or cameras to hook up. The TVs actually do have a full range of input jacks, but they're on the bottom of the flat panel. You have to slide the TV forward, get down on the ground, and look up to identify the jacks. I wanted to connect my computer to look at pictures I had downloaded from my camera. I have a video output from my Mac with composite video (RCA jack) and S-video, and the TV had both inputs. But I was unable to get the S-video to work; it seems Regent has the TVs locked down to prevent a user from selecting an alternate input port like the S-video port. My only option was to pull the DVD cable out of the composite video port and plug my computer into that port -- and that worked. But it was disappointing that the higher-quality S-video port was disabled.
I found it very surprising that the new TVs don't make it easy for people to plug in their electronic devices, even though they're technically capable of it. Maybe Regent is afraid opening up the TVs would result in more tech support questions they'd have to field. Anyway, if you have a composite video out from your computer or camera, and you don't mind poking your head under the TV panel to pull & plug in cables, you can use it.
I hope that helps.
-- Eric

Don: Does Eric's answer solve your problem? I am so totally ignorant of what you are asking. If his answer is not sufficient, I will continue to try to find out.

Eric, Ardis,
Thank you for the replies. I'll bring an assortment of cables and, if necessary, relax instead of working.
Ardis, see you at 4:30 trivia in 12 days.
