We are suppose to pay our final payment today for a Navigator Atlantic crossing in November, but it has disappeared from the web site, as have all the Navigator Cruises from Nov. 15 thru December. I called Regent, and they have given me three answers, none of them with any certainty (They must be full; Inverntory control has taken over them; they must be chartered)

All other full cruises stay on the web site and just show that they are full. Has anyone heard about an early drydock or any other real explanation?

Our 2/4/2010 Navigator cruise disappeared from the rssc website for about 2 weeks, then mysteriously reappeared. I think it's a website issue. If you can still view your reservation through the "my account" function, you should be all right.

I can sympathize, it's irritating!

Well, with the gun pointed to my head, we paid for the trip today, as they would not extend. I sure hope that if someone is aboard Navigator right now they would ask someone in charge if there is an early dry dock being contemplated for November December. I can understand one cruise being pulled for a potential charter, but it appears more than four different sailings have been pulled from the website.

We will not buy our air until at least September when things will hopefully be more clear. And if they do cancel we have been assured that we can get money back, not just future credit.

If anyone hears anything...Please sing out!

Tyler, did you call your TA and ask why? I have wonderful luck calling my TA and always find out a lot more than calling Regent directly.

Good luck...hope it will all work out for you.

Yes, she is getting the same non answer that we are. Effectively all that is being said is "we don't know exactly why they are off the books, but we cannot sell these trips so we assume they are full, chartered or otherwise."

Because the period is so long, my bet is an early Drydock is in negotiations and they do not want to sell anything more that they would have to refund.

Hoping for more info from the "insiders" here or thise on board now. You would think the Captain has gotten wind if theres a possible dry dock sooner than expected.

Something weird is going on...now our trip is showing Belize City to Fort Lauderdale rather than RT Fort Lauderdale. This is the second time this has happened (in addition to the trip disappearing from the website completely).

Difference is, when the itinerary disappeared from the website, at least I could still view the correct itinerary under "my account". Now, "my account" has the Belize City to Fort Lauderdale, something we have zero desire to do - so hopefully this is just one big glitch for both of us, Tyler. BTW, our sailing is the one that was scheduled immediately after drydock.

I do hope for you guys sake that this is just a website issue. Unfortunately, it happened to us once before that they cancelled our cruise when they got a charter (the regular bookings were pretty low, so it was to Regent's benefit to take the charter and offer the booked passengers some bonus benefits for the cancellation). I hope your cruises go as planned - I know how disappointed I would be if mine got cancelled!

PS: I did notice that the October 30 thru November 23 cruise, which includes the crossing, is still listed, but all fares are listed as "closed" - so, hopefully this is good news for Tyler - maybe they just took the fully booked segments off the list, although that does seem strange...

Another board service has reported that there "may" be an announcement Monday about all of this. That in itself does not sound good.

Unfortunately we can't help solve the mistery either.

We noticed this as well and have asked several people on baord and have not received any answer either. We are all suspecting an early dry dock in Genoa (where the ship was built) before the ship crosses the Atlantic. I will try to ask the Captain directly tomorrow and if I find out anything more I will let you know.

OK Kristen, your cruise is back on the website, and they have added some January sailings. This makes my sailing look very bad, but yours is looking better.

We have been notified that there is one change that will affect Kristin. Not sure about yours yet Tyler. For those who are holding reservations on the February 4, 2010 Navigator we have just received word that this has become a 7 day cruise embarking February 2, 2010 in Ft. Lauderdale and disembarking February 9, 2010 in Ft. Lauderdale. If you are holding a reservation you have been confirmed in the same stateroom at the same price. An updated invoice will be mailed directly to each client by Regent. Clients have until August 26 to decline this offer if this does not suit their plans and they will be issued a full refund.
Here is the new schedule
Date Port Arrive Depart
February 2 Fort Lauderdale, Florida ----- 5 p.m.
February 3 At Sea ----- -----
February 4 Cozumel, Mexico 8 a.m. 6 p.m.
February 5 Belize City, Belize 8 a.m. 6 p.m.
February 6 Santo Tomas de Castilla, Guatemala 7 a.m. 6 p.m.
February 7 At Sea ----- -----
February 8 Key West, Florida 9.30 a.m. 6 p.m.
February 9 Fort Lauderdale, Florida 8 a.m.

Wow now a week cruise for price of 4-5 days? Kristin, sounds like you came out a winner on this!

Tyler, hope yours turns out well. If not, I'm sure whatever Regent does will make you whole and then some.

Here is the information on the new dry dock. There are offers for those who are affected and these will be given directly to the people involved.

Dear Travel Partner:
As you may know, Regent Seven Seas Cruises had scheduled the Seven Seas Navigator for
her regularly-scheduled dry-dock this coming January in Charleston, South Carolina. We have
just been informed by the shipyard that due to unforeseen circumstances, the regularly
scheduled dry-dock cannot be accommodated as planned.

We have therefore made the decision to accelerate the dry-docking of the vessel to take place between November 15th and December 15th in Bremerhaven, Germany at the Lloyd Werft shipyard where the planned work will be completed. The ship will operate its published schedule through November 8.

Thanks Ngaire. Not Shooting the messenger, but a more honest Regent would have saved some effort here. Now will await our offers, but not looking good. Will be too close to Christmas to be realistic to try the crossing.

Tyler,
There are several options and hopefully one of those will work for you but if not there is a full refund. Your agent should have received the notice late last evening. I know that I opened mine at about 4 a.m. and emailed Ngaire

Between midnight and 4 a.m. or whenever Ngaire allows me. Just kidding. Ngaire always gets after us for working long hours. Good news is that Regent is prepared and we have already made changes for some of our guests.

Tyler, I'm so sorry for you. I can imagine your disappointment. It sounds like Regent was keeping their own staff, passengers and TA's in the dark with the uncertainty.

In the past Regent has always come through with fair compensation and full reimbursement for out of pocket expenses. I hope this will be your case as well.

My TA called me this afternoon. My Nov 30th was cancelled due to early dry dock. We elected to re-schedule to Jan 23 but instead of carribbean, we will be going central america. Not my 1st choice but it is now 1000.00 cheaper so we'll try something new.

The negotiations have begun here as well, I'll let you all know when is finalized. Currently I am not saying anything because my "inventory control" department has taken over and does not want to let me know what it is doing so that I do not alarm anyone...

Hmm, for the second time this year, Ngaire is off cruising - munching on rack of lamb and playing pooch - while her indefatigable B&K colleagues back in Dallas deal with a gigantic Regent rescheduling crisis. How does she manage such timing? A mere coincidence? One might well wonder, might one not?? Perhaps we have the making of a major conspiracy theory here. Where is Oliver Stone when you need him?

(Okay, okay - no flaming allowed on LCT - there is an abundance of that available on CC at the moment. My point, made with a feeble attempt at humor, is that the B&K operation is indeed a remarkable one, irrespective of which of the lovely ladies might be on a boat somewhere, rather than slaving away into the wee hours next to the Dallas Parkway. I would suggest that these crises and the way B&K protects us with respect to them might remind us of the very high quality of the service we receive from B&K.)

(And for that major bit of kissing up, Ngaire, dearest, you owe me a double portion of rack of lamb on T-Devil, aka Dingo.)

Cheers, Fred

Everybody on NILE has had email from Ngaire today. Since our Nile river boat burned and we had to switch, she's had to reassign all the cabins. New boat has different layout.

I removed several posts this morning that resulted from what seems to be a misunderstanding. Those people who are on the canceled Navigator sailings probably don't want to read through posts that didn't contain useful info about their dilemma ;)
