sent to me from a friend in Vancouver
and posted on the Invincible Port and Bridge Cam forum.
He wanted to get some from the Lions Gate bridge as well,
but there is construction work going on at the moment.

We were on her that day! My sister and I just got back from a 7-day Alaska Mariner cruise that left Vancouver on June 17. Had a great time. It was the first time I've ever done a 7-day cruise on Regent. We had 730 passengers - 142 of whom were children. I was pleasantly surprised that the number of children did not really impact my enjoyment as much as I had worried it would. There was one family who had children that were somewhat disruptive but not terribly so. However, we did avoid deck 6 & 7 on sea days where they had most of the children's program activities.

The cruise that left from Seward on June 24 had 800 passengers! Lorraine didn't know the exact number of children but knew that it was more than the 142 we had!

Mariner looks great and food was still very good. While we did recognize some of the crew, there are a lot of new faces but service was wonderful. I'll write more later about the details of our cruise.

I am so happy to hear that Alaska is having great weather so far for this season! If only it will last!

Hey Jan, Glad to hear that you had a good cruise. Did you convert your sister to Regent? Looking forward to hearing more. Martha amd Tom are joining us on MOOSE.

I too am glad you had a good time, Jan. I'm looking forward to your review. 142 kids would be a deal breaker for me if I knew in advance. And 800 passengers on Mariner? 800 passengers of any age is, IMO, outrageous--for the staff who have to deal with the extra workload as well as passengers who booked in anticipation of a "normal" load. I can't imagine how Regent could justify booking that ship like that. If this gets to be a common practice in Alaska Silversea is going to start looking much much better to lots of people. Pat

What a cool ship to share a port with, it would be fun to see the World up close!
