 Taxi fares in Papeete?

This trip we'll need to get a taxi pre-cruise. Do they take USD or should we get cash from ATM at airport? About how much should we expect the taxi fare to be from Faa'a airport to Radisson hotel and then from hotel to pier?

From the guidebook I just bought (just published this past month), it indicates the taxi fare from the airport to the Radisson is 2240 CFP during the day and 4000 CFP at night. I seem to remember that they only accept CFP or if they do accept dollars the exchange rate is horrible. If you don't have too much luggage, maybe try the bus/leTruck? The tahiti-explorer message board may have more info too.

If you're arriving after dark, you can expect maybe about $35 or so to the Radisson, just a guess (we stayed at a hotel nearby once, haven't taken a cab to that specific hotel.)
Yes, you should get CFP--the exchange desk is readily available at the airport, and there's an ATM nearby as well.

Thanks Lauri and Wendy! I remember the first time we went that, even though we didn't have to take a taxi, we got CFP at the ATM at the airport. We'll probably just do that again. We're arriving at 6:30 pm on Friday. We're taking all our dive gear, so will have a bit of luggage. See you in paradise, Lauri!
