Hello All,
We have decided to go on the 2007 world cruise and stay in the Grand Suite..we think. What is the difference between the 3 decks for that unit.
Is one deck much better than the other??
Thanks for all the help.

Well, on deck 11, you have the observation lounge out your door in one direction, and the pool deck in the other. Other than that, no distinction. I've always wondered whether these suites get grabbed up first by previous world cruisers. Hope the one you want is available! You will love Marcie and Tom, our "resident" World Cruisers who are also reserved for this cruise.

We toured the Grand Suite on Deck 11; the location was wonderful. My problem with that suite is, I'm a bathtub person and the only bathtub is that monster on the other side of the bed from the rest of the bathroom. Otherwise, it was awesome.

We have indicated grand suite as our first choice for '07 - deck 11 down to deck 9 in priority order. Will have to wait until '06 cruisers make up their minds - maybe we'll be neighbors!

Thank you for the info so far. I am looking at the floorplan on RSSC website and the bathroom seems in the same room. We are also bathtub people and I dont understand what you mean.
Are there any pictures of the suite somewhere else. the only real pic is so limited.
Bye and thanks again.
Marc.

Clearly, the bath in the GS is the weakest point one sink and circular shower - bath in Voyager suite is much better.

It is in the same room as the bed, sort of like in its own "solarium" with a big window! I loved it. As I remember only a glass circular shower in the bathroom.
I took pictures of it on the shakedown cruise. Not even sure how to find those picures anymore. Todd? Anyone?

Olivia, My frail memory thinks the pictures were posted at the Hall of Fame site, maybe? I just tried the link and the site seems to be down. I am not sure if it is temporary thing, or not. Click here for the Hall of Fame Yahoo ID: cruisecriticradisson Password: luxury

Olivia is right, there is the glass circular shower in the actual bathroom. The thing that looks like a hot tub (but isn't because there aren't any jets) is the only tub there is in that suite, and it's much bigger than a regular tub would be; at least twice the size. It's beautiful, but for whatever reason, I want my bathtub to be IN the bathroom where all the other fixtures are.
And there is a second entrance from the outside hallway, into the closet. That struck me as bizarre, but I assume you could just keep it locked all the time. I wouldn't want my butler popping out of my closet when I least expected it.
We were in the Voyager Suite, and it was absolutely great. The balcony was small, but if you wanted to sit out in the sun with not a lot on, it was private enough to do that.

Pam, I am laughing out loud, picturing your butler popping out of the closet while you were in your big tub in the middle of nowhere!

Wow you guys are great. I just hope everyone on the cruise will be so friendly.
I have one last dumb question comncerning the "Butler". Is it worth having him or her and what is the cost for that??
Dinks on me to all who have helped me along the way.
Take care.

The butler is automatic after you reach a certain category of suite; there's no "extra" cost at all. I guess we aren't butler people, we've had ours almost in tears because we couldn't find anything for them to do. On the WC, though, he'd find his niche if you decided to entertain in that huge suite.

My sister Marilyn would keep a butler busy as she played golf "around the world"...her private caddy but are they allowed off the ship?
Dr. Cruise: A beautiful suite and I hope you get your first choice...on a cruise of 111 days it's nice to have extra space. My sister & I will be joining you on segment 5.

Mark just reminded me about the wall between the living room and the bedroom, in the Grand Suite. There is a shelving unit behind that desk, and doors at either end of the wall. Those two doors are heavy glass. He said that he didn't see a way to keep the bedroom dark if lights are on in the living room. Also, you can curtain off the tub area from the bedroom, but don't get caught streaking across the room if there are guests in the living room.
I don't know how important that is in the grand scheme of things, but it could be a consideration.

Cant type a long response here BUT I have sailed in the Grand Suite twice --- I absolutely love this suite. Sitting in that bathtub with the scenery outside the window is pure decadence!!!
I think you will love it. It does not take long to fill the tub even though it looks so large.

Thank you, R! I was afraid I was the only one who couldn't see it, and was blaming it on my Mac once again.
But if you click on Dr. Cruise's name, you can see his profile with a picture of Darth Vader; I refuse to accept that DV will be going on the world cruise with Marcie and Tom.

Well, any male (from the avatar that used to be) with the address of hotheidi has to be somewhat interesting! As with any forum, sometimes there are visitors who just want to have fun, but watch out if Ngaire finds you out!

Can we define the word "Strange".
On a scale from 1-10 I am a 10 in looks and humor and a 12 in the Darkside...LOL.
Yes my better half is Heidi or maybe Miriam or maybe Nicole. I have to decide who to bring...now that is strange.
Oh goodie Karen is here...whew I needed my daily fix of Dr.Spock.
By the time we sail I will know you all like my family.
Once again thanks for fun posts.
