Any word yet on initial itineraries on the Splendour? According to a post on cc, there will be itineraries with some open dates for travel agents. However, the CC post had no details. Apparently, the person writing the post received some mail from Regent that we haven't yet gotten.

Barcelona to Miami (2/7/20, 14 nights)
Miami to Los Angeles (2/25, 16 nights)
Los Angeles to Miami (3/14, 16 nights)
Miami to NY (4/1, 15 nights)
NY to Barcelona (4/16, 14 nights)
Barcelona to Venice (4/30, 12 nights)
Barcelona to Rome (5/28, 7 nights)
Rome to Barcelona (6/4, 12 nights)
Barcelona to Monte Carlo (6/16, 10 nights)
Monte Carlo to Rome (6/26, 10 nights)

There is nothing listed for the ship for the period May 12 to May 28.

We received the LARGE $$$ booklet in todays mail. What jumped out at me is that concierge suites no longer have Nespresso machines like the Explorer does (unless it just wasn't mentioned) ??? We LOVED having one.

Maybe May 12 to May 28, 2020 is a charter ??

I haven't had a chance to read it very carefully yet but it's loaded with glossy photos and looks gorgeous like the Explorer. There's a cruise on June 4 from Rome to Barcelona, including Jerusalem where we've never been (UN-TUT). We just happen to get off Silver Cloud on June 4 in London...hmmmm.

A year in London; sounds great! We get off Cloud 4 June 2019 versus 4 June 2020 boarding of Spendour.

I wonder if Ngaire has chartered Slendor for KLT cruise?

I have decided what I will escort on the new Splendor.

May 28 to June 4, 2020 Barcelona to Rome back to back with June 4 to June 16, 2020, Rome to Barcelona. I wish I could post the itinerary but cannot get that on this post on the iPad. Will try and add it from my computer.

Nice itineraries and the perfect time weather wise to do this itinerary. We have only been to Israel one time so I really like the itinerary.

My office will start a wait list if anyone wants to book when it opens.

Ngaire, does this mean no Caribbean group cruise on Splendour? Still waiting to see itineraries and cost.

We positively want to do the June 4th Rome to Barcelona segment on the Splendor.

Marc, I am actually rethinking this already. No short Caribbean trips as we hoped. They are doing two 16 night Panama Canal cruises. I liked the itineraries of the med cruises, hence my choice

But the two 16 night Panama Canal trips are very well priced . F2 cabin $9199 with coach air.

In comparison the June 4 Rome to Barcelona 12 night F2 with air is $12099 of course that includes European business air.

What do you all think would be best? Good med itinerary or good pricing Panama Canal?

I haven't done Panama Canal since New Years 2003/2004 so I would tend to pick the Panama Canal. However, with both POP2IT and CHEERS, it would be a tight squeeze adding another cruise in between.

That's $1,100 more than almost identical itineraries at almost identical times on the Explorer!

http://rollcall.dribcritic.com/dollar.php?trip=6119&farecat=F2

http://rollcall.dribcritic.com/dollar.php?trip=6749&farecat=F2

Plus the Explorer cruises had the SSS benefit.

Do you know what's happening on those two Explorer Panama Canal cruises yet? It might be worth waiting for that before making a move to an almost identical ship, except that you can get fancy coffee outside and starboard.

It is common for the new ship to be higher in the inaugural season. Many would be fine with the extra cost to see a new ship.

If anyone books and wants to change ships it is easy to cancel and move to the Explorer or any other cruise. The rest of the fleet will not be out until later and I have no details. I only found the pricing last night for the Splendor right after I posted my choices based purely on itinerary.

I need to make this determination in the next 24 hours and I am okay with either itinerary. Just want to do what the majority of you wish to do. These cruises will sell really well and I need to get everything in place before they open for booking so we can be sure to get prime cabins.

I cannot do the Miami to New York I have a conflict. So it is between the Panama Canal and the Mediterranean.

You can also email me and just say Panama or Med so I can see the preference. Although I am in the ship I still check my email as much as possible and today is a sea day.

Definitely doing June 4 Rome to Barcelona. Not doing May 28 now considering Panama Canal still pending.

Marc - are you and Arlene on CHEERS? Sounds like it. Haven't found a Roll Call, so other than Tom and Mona, and us, don't know who else is on.

Rome to Barcelona sounds fun, and on the new ship.....although its apparently identical to the Explorer.....but too close together for us and we like those TA's with good sea days. Are the itineraries only out for the summer or are they out now for the full year? We haven't gotten a brochure.

Still no brochure in today's mail, and Regent corporate says that brochures are sent to clients of TAs only through the TA. I guess mail from Texas to NJ is slow for brochures.

Still no online brochure in English; but someone on CC posted the catalog in German: https://www.rssc.com/ebrochures/DM180404_SplendorBrochure_DE/page_50.html . While I can't understand the German, the portion of the brochure with itineraries is pretty clear. The itineraries are a bit disappointing: doesn't Regent go to some different ports for a change? For the June 4 cruise, I was at all of the ports other than Barcelona on my cruise last October on the Voyager; and I've been to Barcelona on two cruises. It's hard to find an itinerary with as many as 3 ports that I haven't visited.

The gentleman who posted the German link is from Switzerland, I think.

Here it is as an English PDF file:

https://www.rssc.com/ebrochures/JAN...ta/source/JAN1801_Splendor_Book_0301.pdf

Or the electrontic version, which I don't like as much:

Thanks. Ironically, I received an email with a link to the English brochure within about 2 minutes after I posted the German link.

That is a strange thing for Regent to say.. it has never been the case that brochures are only mailed out from TA’s to clients.. We do get a small box of brochures but we would have to get a huge number to send out to everyone. Totally incorrect information. Not sure the office has received one yet not mentioned to me.

That is really weird, Ngaire, because the envelope had your name on it , so I thought the brochure was sent from you.

Lots of materials from Regent and Signatures have our name attached. They send out the materials to the guests from the last agent of record. Logical for someone to think it was from us. I was just surprised that someone from Regent said that. Might have been a new person who was not aware. Just thought I should clarify we don’t send them out. That would be a massive job and Regent outsources this is to a company that specializes in mass mailings.

Looks like stiff cancellation or is this the normal for all Regent cruises these days ?

151 days ahead, $100. per person.
150-121 days is 15%
120-91 is 50%
90-76 days is 75%
75-0 is 100%

I do not remember exactly the details but the inaugural season had stiff penalties too. If I remember correctly even stiffer for the Maiden voyage.

Gudrun gave a short talk on the Splendour yesterday and said that the itineraries for the rest of the year and into the next will be published in August. The 2 blank segments in the currently published list are due to still making port arrangements and they should be out soon.

Ah, the wedding of the century; ok, at least of the decade. It was so good to see Mark and Suzanne in Dubai; hopefully they join us on this splendiferous cruise.

We too booked the LA to Miami as well as the Rome to Barcelona cruise. The LA to Miami is easy for us but having a bit of hesitation about the Rome to Barcelona (as much as we want to go to Israel)...I'm so done with international flights. Oh well, it's a means to an end so you gotta bite the bullet.

You did the right thing Marcie. Book both and then see what develops. Much better than deciding to go and then it is on a wait list.

Bookings are really strong on this opening and I have no idea how my office is handling the volume. Absolutely incredible. I am so blessed with Clay and ALL the KLT staff. Feel a bit guilty not being able to help but they will manage.

Hi all, long time B&K client, first time posting. I just booked the June 4th trip as well. First time since my beloved husband Sandy - my best cruising companion - suddenly passed away 3 years ago that I’m getting back on a Regent ship. I found out after I booked about Ngaire hosting and I’m delighted to finally meet her. I recently relocated from San Francisco to St Petersburg, FL and am now retired after a 30 year career in HR and then a second one as an author and keynote speaker. I’m 60 and look forward to spending more time traveling, albeit in a different way than I expected. Glad I will hopefully have some dining companions on this trip.
