As requested this is a list of the cruises Ken and I will be doing from the new Regent Release.

EXPLORER - 9/12/17 London to London - UK, Scotland, Ireland
EXPLORER - 9/22/17 London to Barcelona - France, Spain Portugal
MARINER - 10/27/17 - Montreal - Miami - Canada, New England East Coast
MARINER - 1/23/18 - Lima to Buenos Aires - South America
VOYAGER - 3/24/18 - Bali to Hong Kong - Brunei, Java, Malaysia, Phillipines
VOYAGER - 4/08/18 - Hong Kong to Bangkok - Vietnam

Need to do names but a lot to do at one time. Maybe we do the Explorer a name for both the 9/12/17 and 9/22/17 as it is back to back. I will ask Karen to start a contest soon.

We are on Lima to Buenos Aires. Anyone else interested in pre-cruise to Machu Pichu. Regent 3 night pre-cruise only has 2.5 hours actually at Machu Pichu; is this really enough time? Nice to have platinum discount but looking for other ways to do the trip. I know many here have made the trip; any lessons learned?

We are also going to do a post-cruise to Iguacu Falls; sill have valid Brazilian visa so might try going to both sides of falls; anyone else interested in that trip too?

If there are enough interested I will put a private pre Machu Picchu trip together. I am doing that for the Galapagos cruise in November this year.

Marc,
June and i are booked on the MIA to BA segments for 2018.

Not sure if we would do Machu Pichu. I have been but June has not and we currently are on the MIA to LIM segment. For those who have not done Machu Pichu I could not recommend doing that more. Would think something Ngaire arranges much better than Regent tour. The altitude can be an issue for us older folks but that is not a problem for you younger ones.

Would do the Iguacu Falls for sure as a post cruise event.

Pat & I are on board for the Bali to Hong Kong cruise in March, 2018. We just sent an email to Ngaire asking her to snag one of those great G cabins on Deck 6 for us.

This cruise looks great. All new ports for us except for HK. We've been looking for something that either begins or ends in Bali so that we could spend a bit of time there.

We have done Machu Pichu twice using Lindblad/National geographic tours. They use top notch hotels and guides with some extras not found on the usual tour though the lectures were interesting not enough to chose them. They do overnight at the Sanctuary at the site. They work to try to avoid altitude sickness by staying in Cusco a short time and overnighting there at the end. We had a very interesting group of well traveled people. So if Ngaire doesn't have enough this is another way to go.

Pam you are so right. Spending a night in Cusco on arrival is a mistake.

When I do Machu Picchu I immediately go down to the Sacred Valley and get out of Cusco as soon as I can. The Sacred Valley is the lowest altitude and a place that is usually missed. It is a neat area and gets you acclimatized it makes a HUGE difference. Usually two nights there and then onto Machu PIcchu with Cusco at the end so you have adjusted a bit first.

Hi Fred

We're on the Bali to HK cruise too, in one of those G cabins in the KLT neighbourhood.

We thought we wouldn't do another Asian cruise but as you said this has many ports we've not been to before plus a precruise trip to Bali is always fun, been there many times but not for a few years.

Be great to sail with you and Pat again, been way too long.

Lenore and I are also tentatively booked for the Bali to HK cruise. Looking forward to seeing some old friends from cruises past! Sheila and Ken, glad to hear you are booked as well, it will be great to see you again - wonder if any other Aussie friends might be coming?

I've the itch to do the Lima to BA cruise as well. Sounds like there's some interest from others here as well! I'd be interested in anything pre and post cruise to stretch it several more days.

Olivia, that would be fantastic! I am thinking of organizing a THREE Corners tour to Puerto Iguacu where three countries (Argentina, Brazil, and Paraguay) all meet.

Oh good lord, there you go again! wink you and your "corners". I already have passport stamps for the first two, one passport or another. Happy to do if it if doesn't take an extra whole day!

Doug, isn't January a dead time of year everywhere? Get away from the winter weather and join us! Well it may be cold in the Chilean fjords, but omg are they beautiful. Last time I was there I think in 2006, was with Ngaire and Ken, and Todd, Mike and Pat, and others. And it was so much fun! Why I want to go back. Have been in Asia the past couple of years during January, so it will be fun to return.

Olivia:

It can be so hard fitting the time available into when this or that great trip is scheduled. BUT we're trying. Been too long since we've seen you and a bunch of others. You just never know where we will pop up. (lol)

Doug

PS: Yes, Marc does love his corners!!! (lol) But merely 3 seems like a wee bit of a cheat. Don't corners come in 4's?

Very happy with the Pin Name - BEATLES.

Been a long time since I went to Liverpool that was the FIRST cruise that Ralph booked with us and that seems like a lifetime ago.

I guess Montreal to Miami is next; we should be able to get some fantastic names. Last time it was named CANADA - Cruising Aboard Navigator and Discovering America. Mariner this time so CANADA 2 definitely doesn't work. wonder

edited to add:

Ken is ready for Liverpool!

I just realized that I had said we would not do Machu Picchu. Since then June and I have cancelled the MIA to LIM segment so we can do Machu Picchu. I have done it and only being there for a few hours is not the way to do that extraordinary place. Suspect Ngaire might do something if there is enough interest and or could arrange something for a small group thru Ker $ Downey. I found my visit in 2006 so special the more I thought about it , decided I had to take June there.

I just had to correct my earlier post. It is a long way off but the fun is in the anticipation.

Would do Iguasu Falls as a post cruise tour also. Did that in 2006 also and would like for June to have seen it also.

Great Ralph! I sure hope Ngaire will have enough interest to put together a group for this!

I am sure I will have enough for a private Machu Picchu. Doing this in conjunction with the Galapagos cruise so I can "tweak" the trip and make it better as well.
