The storms in the North East are so terrible. I've been glued to CNN following this terrible historical storm. Please stay safe and check in with us.
Daughter Jill is currently on a flight (suppose to attend a meeting in Manhattan tomorrow) and was on the last flight to take off from LAX to JFK this morning. Anxious to hear from her when she lands.

I am glad Jill finally made it, Marcie! I have been watching CNN all day, too!

No need to worry about us! We are in sunny, dry Vail. Sigh. Forecast for our house is 24-30". I texted our neighbor telling him to help himself to our snowblower but that we hadn't gotten any gas for it yet this winter!

Back in my working days it was predicted we'd get the blizzard of the century. I went to work with NO problem. I looked out my 5th floor office window looking over Rochester and NOT anything was moving - people or vehicles. It looked like a dead city.
BUT NOT ONE FLAKE FELL!
So far not much snow here in the burbs but VERY COLD.

I was going to think of today as my older son's 40th birthday blizzard (1/27/75); but most of the storm went east of us. Birthday storm, but not really a blizzard here. 6 to 8 inches of snow isn't great; but the predicted amounts were 20 to 30 inches. Narrow escape for North Jersey, but eastern Long Island and New England are getting slammed.
