This is more of a "flyertalk" type question, but I know I won't get my head bitten off here for asking a question :) Is there an airline that lets you buy lounge passes even if you are not flying with them that day? We will have a long layover in Heathrow in October and I'd like to buy us some lounge passes. We'll be flying British airways in coach.

Do you have Amex? There is a service called priority lounge or something like that and it gives you access to many lounges worldwide even if you aren't on a particular airline. Some airlines allow day passes, such as United, if you are flying on them. Another way to get in lounges is to get a credit card that allows club access. United has that as well. I dont believe you need to travel on them. I am not sure if BA has day passes.

Hubbie has Amex Plat. We just requested priority pass. Thanks! I do not believe there are spousal benefits with Priority Pass; I believe there would be a $27 fee for the second person. Main reason that I got the card; read the rules; and have yet to use it. If you both have an Amex Plat not an issue as you can both get Priority Pass; we just haven't felt the $175 for a second card necessary. Marc

We just got back from a wonderful short 4 day trip did AA Biz over and did BA First back, Never flew BA before, had the pleasure of hanging out in T-5 What an amazing terminal, also visited the Concorde room, that place put most of these airline lounges to complete shame. BA First by far was the best flight we have ever taken. For once NOT one body in my bone aches from flying.. would use the miles to upgrade to First in a flash if it was available..

I got scheduled on BA First when TUT was aborted, since I had paid the miles to be in First, and what a place that lounge is in T-5! I don't remember much about the flight back to IAD, so it means it was good. Return in the daytime, I usually don't sleep much anyway, but I think I did on this one.

Short 6 hour flight back from LHR to Bos, wish it was longer as crazy as that sounds.. 14 seats in First and only 6 taken, it was like having a whole cabin area to yourself.. Paid a few bucks more in Taxes but worth EVERY PENNY!!!
