Marc,

Olivia needs to be added to the roll call. She's been booked since day one, but has finally outed herself since she's done her air!

Anyone have any idea how much a cab would be from Nice airport to hotel in MC? I have found private transfers for 85 euros for 1-3 people. Would a cab be less? Train is not an option as when we get off the flight we just want to go straight to the hotel. Thanks.

I remember taking a cab a few years ago from the Marriott to the Airport and I remember it was less than 85 Euros, want to say I paid something like 65 Euros with tip for a taxi.

I just hope what happened to me several years ago does not happen ever again, to any of you! I flew into Nice solo for the Voyager shakedown cruise, late March 2003 as I remember. Got off the plane and out the door to get a taxi just to Nice town, not Monte Carlo. Taxi's were on strike! So a nice lady tells me no problem, I'm going to town, too, get on the bus with me.

End of the line was the bus station, and that lady was so nice, but had a life other than me, and says take a left, and go here and there.

I trudged along pulling my big suitcase, looking for water (not to drink, but where I might see the ship), knew "somewhat" where I was going as I had sailed from Nice port before (a follow your nose sort of thing). My hotel, La Perouse was around the corner and up the hill from the cruise berth, I knew that much. I swear I was walking maybe 30 minutes, but it felt like two hours. What a relief when I saw the harbor, and the brand new Voyager sitting there.

But this time, no taxi for me. A private transfer at any cost!

Yeah think we will just do the private transfer, easier, more reliable and........if there are traffice issues getting over to MC the meter isn't just running and running! LOL

Hi Marc,

Please add Joan and Dave to the roll call. For various reasons, we decided to substitute Grand Prix for Taj Mahal. We're on the Mariner all the way to Buenos Aires. We're in 943 for Grand Prix and 944 on the way to Buenos Aires. Now, I have to see if I can get some frequent flyer flights. :D

Joan and I are looking forward to seeing everyone from CANADA again as well as meeting others.

Joanna, I have you updated. 44 names on the roll call (I am sure the group is larger) and we have travelled with all except two.

:) We've recently received new reservation materials, since we added business class air. (Sadly, our cruise is not one of the ones with $499 business class.) The docs show a one night stay at the Columbus Hotel, so that's probably the hotel for D or E through H. Is anyone familiar with this hotel?

confused Concierge and up, and Silver and up, can book excursions starting March 14. Does anyone have an idea of when the excursions will be posted on the web site?

joanandjoe -
we were initially booked in a cat E, as that was the lowest available when we booked and we were listed for the Fairmont MC. Now we have since been able to downgrade to a G Gty, and the hotel was the Columbus, for G, H and F, and we have since booked our own air and hotel. The Columbus looked very nice, 4 star, but in a location way out, on the other side of the Mountain, in a small harbor, not super convenient to the city and such.

Several of us on this roll call have taken the hotel credit and booked at the Le Meridien Beach Plaza using a Senior rate of 190 euros for the night. If you don't meet that qualification, LOL its not that much more.

Agree a really great group and we too have cruised with most of them, but I think for us there will be more than two new couples. LOL.

Seems so far off, but it will be on us before we know it. See you'all then.

Welcome to the board Diane! Looking forward to meeting you and Don. Please let me know if you have any questions about Igaussu Falls as I was just there in January prior to the Antarctic trip many of us were on.

Welcome, know you will love this group.

We did a 2night pre trip in Provance several years ago, two nights at the Four Seasons in Terreblance, it was wonderful. We had transfers to there, then 2 days later she picked us up and took us to Eze before we boarded the ship. On the 2nd day we had a rental car thru the hotel and drove around to all the little villages we could see from our room patio, and even went back to one for dinner the 2nd night.....one of our very favorite memories.

Looking forward to meeting you.

We've booked the Marriott Hotel La Porte de Monaco, using Marriot points. That's in Cap L'Ail, France, on the border with Monaco. Does anyone know this hotel? Should we stick with Regent's hotel, or use our free Marriott reservation? confused

WE stayed there a few years ago after we got off the Voyager, we had a sea view room and thought it was fine.. Free courtesy shuttle to Monte Carlo which is only a few minutes away.. We are pretty sure we will be staying there in April before our Silversea cruise.. The rates seem pretty reasonable as well..

We stayed there a couple years ago and thought it was fine. We booked a standard room, but they upgraded us to a sea view room with a fantastic view. The free shuttle also took us to the port to board the ship. If you like to walk, the hotel is actually walkable to most of the main sights in Monte Carlo.

DARN Carolyn, I was hoping you were going to go, my new pooch buddy. Sorry you had to cancel, but we did talk about that on CANADA, was just hoping that it wasn't going to happen.

I'm sure though, you will have a great time on your other cruises. Will certainly miss you. :) But if I remember, we will see you at HEE HAW right?

Our shore excursions are booked. They didn't offer everything we had hoped for, but we reserved the best (for us) of what they did offer. What a relief that Joan, who has never been to the Alhambra, will get to see it.

Really? When did they open, thought it was tomorrow and now the "my account" section seems to be down for maintainence. I can see the excursions if you go to the cruise. Strange that the one section is down.

I couldn't book excursions either. Regent rep sent me PDF offerings but not much good with website down. The rep I spoke with this morning said they couldn't book on their end either.
