I was just talking about this with Andi yesterday. Glad everyone else is still awaiting the documents. I am less concerned, now.
Nicole confirmed my mailing address about a month ago, too. But I've received no email or tracking number.
Like Ngaire, we're looking forward to the trip & seeing all of you. It will be a great trip!

Glad I'm not the only one getting antsy. One of my coworkers is there now and has been sending me daily emails with photos. Let me tell you, that really gets me ready to go!

We book these trips so far in advance that when the time comes, we get antsy. (good word for it, Andrea)
I just wish that the docs would arrive so that we would have one less thing to worry about....after all, we still need to pack! (What to bring? AND how much?)

I cannot wait for the horrors of the return trip home given the security from that part of the world. I figure the less we have with us, the easier it will be. BUT who knows?

Still, I look forward to this trip to an amazing place with old & new friends.

Just received our 10 lb package tracking number as well. Estimated arrival date March 01,2010. Guess it takes that long from Egypt...Thats only 2 weeks before our departure.

Just read British Air cabin attendents voted to go on strike....what on earth do we do??? we are using FF miles to fly to Egypt.....Please start praying they work it out soon. Pat

Our tracking number email arrived this afternoon, expected on 2/26.

Pat, we're in the same situation - I think there are a few of us who are on BA out of LHR. I have researched alternate flights on Egypt Air or BMI in case it comes down to changing. It would be a huge hassle and I hope they get things worked out in the next few weeks.

Well I am BA all the way from Toronto and am flying to London on the 16th...thats only 3 weeks from tomorrow. Sometimes I hate flying.
I was stuck in Switzerland once for 2 days after Air Canada went on stike.That was the week Swiss Air came down in Nova Scotia at Peggy's Cove and my first time flying "ticketless".
Ended up flying on Swiss Air via Atlanta which added another 8 hours on our time.We waved at home as we flew OVER Toronto....but hey, any port in a storm.

I sure hope all this will have a wonderful ending for such a special trip!!

Pat, that must have been a nightmare having to go so out of your way...like us flying West to Hawaii and turning around to come East to CA. UGH.

Ah, Pat, the joys of travel re BA impending strike. They never last that long! All the big news in Rio today is about the once on, then off Lufthansa strike. I worry less about getting docs far in advance than the follies of the airlines. We are, after all, in very good hands with KD and BK!

We are on LH from Chicago and are definitely concerned about their strike. I guess we just have to think positive!!

Ray thinks we should book another airline (with full refund) to Cover our *****....what does anyone else think? or doing?

LH pilots are still scheduled to strike on March 9 if they can't get agreement. Getting closer to departure date. We are on LH on the 18th.

Pat, if the BA strike goes as planned I am going to book us on BMI from LHR to CAI. I used miles so I will just let AA know & will get them to redeposit the extra miles.

Did you use BA miles for your flight? I wonder if you could switch to AA metal for the Toronto to LHR portion. Just a thought.

I guess this is one time I am glad Carol and I are using Air France.

We got our box, did everybody else? Looks like sport coat for the guys, for the boat, no mention of the dinners in Cairo.

Our revised delivery date is March 2nd.....Wonder why it takes so long to come here. Its taken since the 22 till 24th to go from Stafford TX to Mesquite TX.. should I call UPS and tell them where Mississauga is located?
All joking aside we send and receive items from the USA west in 3 days,however we pay a couple of extra dollars for this service Two weeks is cutting it a little bit close.
However this is the least of my worries....keeping fingers crossed to strikes or walk outs on BA.

Well, there's an 8 1/2 x 11 envelope with some stuff in it.

Then there are two duffle bags, two "binder bags", two folding shopping bags, and two luggage tags. Lots of goodies.

We were wondering what could be 10 lbs worth of packaging & figured that it would be such.

I also agree, they cuts this a wee bit too close for my taste, too.

The binder bags are really, really nice; they hold all our information plus a travel journal for us to write in.

No Amarula and the wines are not the best either. We must all lower our alcohol and food standards! However, the sights we will see will more than make up for the food and beverages!

I do like the binder itineraries I think they are really nice.

I did not remember taking a jacket for Ken last time but maybe I am mistaken. They certainly made a point of the fact the guys should have one. I am planning on so few clothes for this trip I hate packing and unpacking so be prepared to see me in the same things again and again.

We should get our package in a day or so. Are you saying that the package suggests a jacket for the men. I certaintly was not planning on packing a sport jacket. How important is that.

Pat has a good question about bring a computer. What is the internet access like. Suspect that at the Four Seasons and other main hotels there should be internet access. Do I need to plan on internet withdrawal.

Pat, Why a new camera. Your pics from ROAR 2 were outstanding. Are you in competition with Ray. About the wine, It will be a Conundrum to make the wine decisions in Eqypt.

Ralph I was so frustrated on ROAR2 that I wanted to get one where I can have a telephoto lens as well as a faster shutter.Using Nile to practise on it.
I see our box is still in Musquito Texas after 2-3 days....maybe should send out a rescue team. If it doesn't move on today I think I'll call Nicole and get her to see what the hold up is.Getting a tad antsy.

LOL Susan, It is.....Must be all of 3 to 3 1/2 hours....Oh i now see they revised it to delivery on Monday ,March 1,2010.

So excited...just received our package from the UPS man. I'm also interested in knowing if we should get some Egyptian pounds before departing. Now we just have to pray that there aren't airline strikes!!
