Besides a missed connection that allowed me to see the Eiffel Tower, I have never been to Paris. In our three days there during PARIS, I want to at least see Louvres, Versailles, and Notre Dame. AMA has a one day excursion included. Instead of taking their excursion, is anyone interested in getting together and arranging private tours? Versailles is probably most important, but I could see getting a guide for a Paris walking tour, too. In fact, would it make more sense not to get AMA's Paris segment and arrange touring and hotel on our own?
Any thoughts?

I know that people will have a TON of Paris suggestions, but we strongly encourage folks to add the following to their sightseeing stops: Musee d\'Orsay -- a wonderful collection of impressionist art in the former Gare d'Orsay train station; a must-see on each of our trips to Paris; we prefer this to the Louvre. Sainte-Chapelle -- possibly the most beautiful stained glass windows we have ever seen (close to Notre Dame). There's never enough time to experience Paris.

Marc, Marilyn and I spent all day in the Louvre, another day Notre Dame and Napoleon's tomb and don't miss Galleries Lafayette, go up up to the top. So many art museums I can't remember but don't miss Versailles...we left Paris just dripping with culture!

Luke, I agree! I LOVE the Impressionists, and this is the perfect place for a great collection, and you can do it on your own, as they have the self-tour with the headsets. Sainte Chapelle is my favorite chapel in Paris because of the stained glass that surrounds you. After we were there last time on a land trip several years ago, there was a hurricane that destroyed a lot of it, so I am glad to hear it has been restored.
For PARIS, we will have to figure out good things to do inside as it is going to be cold! However, Marc, throw out some ideas of what a walking tour would be! Last time after Musee d'Orsay, we bought sandwiches and went to a park and had a picnic. I'm up for a repeat visit to Versailles.
