Still no word on Air France strike's impact, if any. We are leaving Friday morning (Thursday afternoon US time). We hope to make it to Athens Friday night. I am hoping worst case scenario is arrival on Saturday which will still allow me to show Arlene the Acropolis and the Plaka.

We don't get in until Saturday afternoon Marc, I think the Plaka and Acropolis are about all we will concentrate on, but I did schedule a private tour for Sunday morning, just to see a few of the other sites.

You all sound so excited.....It makes me remember just how fun those last few days before you leave are.......seems like it's been forever. Don't forget about us back here living vicariously through you!! Enjoy the anticipation!!!!

SeaMail will definitely be a part of my days, but I don't know, or even think I can handle pictures. Someonw else, can do that, TomG, Joanna, Olivia, Ken/Ngaire - will let them do the SeaPictures.

Really getting excited now, starting to pack, finish laundry, decide how to "cross pack" so that we might actually have clothes in the worst case scenario, although we have been extrememly lucky in that respect - but some of it is just packing well so that suitcases are as light as possible.

One week from today, onboard!! oh yeah!! I can do that.

We are really going to miss having Anne with us, not only for her company, but for the daily and humorous missives she posts!

Anne definitely is the "posting queen", right up there with Marcie. I just hope the rest of us can handle the pressure!!! LOL!

As a homebound former CAMEL, I'm feeling a twinge of jealousy and sadness I'm not joining this fabulous cruise. Do we ever not tire of seeing our LCT friends and exotic destinations?
Have fun and drink a few mojitos and choc. martini's and red & white wine and sambucca's for me :eek:

I will miss you and Marilyn, Suzie! Can't do all those drinks you mentioned, but I will make up for it in the white wine category! And a cosmo now and then!

Had hoped Suzanne would join me for leg 2, but not to be. She has to stay home to water and watch her veggie garden sprout!

Thanks for your good wishes everyone. Now, I'm ready to leave. Today was hair, manicure, pedicure and waxing. And Mona had some things done too.

I'm really looking forward to this vacation. I've been a little quiet on the board over the last few months because there was a lot going on at home. When we booked this cruise Mona and I made sure to get insurance because there were three close family members who were in poor health -- my aunt, my mother and Mona's mother.

It turned out that all three of them passed away within a six week period from the middle of March until the end of April. They will all be missed. But most importantly they all led full and productive lives.

Now all the worrying is behind us and we won't have to be concerned everytime the phone rings in the cabin.

I'm looking forward to celebrating my 55th birthday on the ship on May 29th. And there could not be a better group of people to spend it with. See you in Athens. Tom.

I remember so well Marcie surprising us on that "007" cruise in 2005! My Joanna and I arrived at hotel, and Joanna and Tony called and said meet us on the roof garden for a welcome drink. Up we went, and there were Marcie and Tom! I tried to copy a picture from the ofoto site, but it won't copy!

Tom, these are the best celebrations, when you go away and don't worry about that phone call. Such is the stuff of life when you get in the mid-50's, losing special people. So sorry to hear the news, but glad they all lived enriching lives. We will have to have a grand celebration for your birthday!

Yes we will see you in Athens Tom. But as you and Mona know, I am still dealing with "every time the phone rings", but my Dad is doing well and hopefully will continue to improve and we won't be getting those calls in the cabin. Its a little scary, but he seemed to do OK while we were in Alabama a couple of weeks ago, and in Richmond last weekend. Have things set up for visits from three of the Granddaughters while we are gone and phone calls from the other two Grandkids, so hopefully it will work and he will be fine. And luckily with our two hours of free phone calls, I can actually call him ----- well if I can figure out the time difference!!! :D :D
