Got an email from Debbie last night, docs are in and she will send them early next week. We are going to Alabama for Frank's 50th HS reunion tomorrow and I didn't want to take any chances.

Made Signatures reservations yesterday.

I think its our turn B2B'ers, less than a month now.

It is getting close; we leave three weeks from Friday. We have a trip to Hiroshima this weekend and then it will be time to start getting organized for our trip to Athens.

Usually, I am pretty nonchalant about our docs as excursions are already picked and we know the ship; however, this time, I am looking forward to my BK Reward. :D

JoAnn, let us know time and place for dinner on the 25th.

Hard to believe B2B is almost here. We, 11 strong, are all excited. I am having the group for pool/dinner party the 17th to discuss & share our trip plans. I have not booked any excursions. First time I've ever been so "unbooked" but many ports are repeats for us so we are winging it. Oh I did book shuttle for Taormina and have one Venice trip planned. We have been to these ports in Sept and Oct do I assume weather in late May/June will be the same???

Marc - we are going to Alabama this weekend for Frank's 50th HS reunion. Have been in touch with the Concierge at our Hotel, and some info from other sites. As soon as we get back I will start working it top priority and will of course let you know details, will send out an email to everyone involved. Looking forward to seeing you and Arlene again, and hopefully we can schedule dinner onboard. Do you have any idea how close our two hotels might be???? I am trying to figure that out, but can't. Need to go get a good map.

You too Joanna, know you have your friends with you, but we hope to drag you and Tony off for dinner one night and maybe we will just crash your group one night!! :D

I'm sure we will work it all out. We have Dick and Nancy joining the second week - might have to get two large tables together - guess they are use to that with B&K groups.

Latitudes is booked (i.e., no more advanced bookings) for the entire first week (Jazz cruise). I wonder what is going on. We haven't made any advanced dinner reservations. I am planning on finally forcing the issue about the definition of the SSS benefit of "priority reservations" as I don't want to feel "forced" to decide my dining plans a month in advance.

Oh Marc tell me how to do that - does Silver have priority reservations? I can't remember. I agree, I don't think I have ever seen Lattitudes fully booked on a given night much less a whole week for early reservations.

There was no problem getting in Latitudes during the last segment of WC so I wouldn't worry. We didn't go but those who did said it was practically empty. We did go to Signatures one night, no problem making a reservation. I think you'll be fine.

Thanks Marcie, it just seems so strange that it was completely closed for the first week, and within a couple of hours of dinner reservations opening.

Which nights are formal nights on our B2B and/or Capt's welcome party??? - I just printed something out and it shows NO formal nights? My error I am sure - and remind me again CCC is no tie and Informal is Jacket and tie??? I know I know I should be versed but Tony is driving me kookie tonight with these questions!! I reminded him him things could change, or they did on Lamb, from the original info dress code -

Joanna - take a deep breath, it will be fine! Add a glass of wine. <img src="http://smileys.sm...3Fi%253D7%252F7_4_14/image.gif">

Here is the deal, 4 INFORMAL nights, two each week. NO formal nights, all the rest all CCC. You and Tony will look stunning as you always do - but that should help your packing which should be a bit easier. Frank and I actually are in the minority and love formal nights, but you know what, we are fine with this.

You are good to go girl!!!

Wow so no suits/tux for Capt's dinner? - it sure will help with packing - Tony has no problem with suit/tie - he enjoys it too

With fourteen straight days in port, it is kind of hard to schedule a formal night. I am taking a couple of sportscoats for the four informal nights and a visit to Signatures and may also pack a tie although not required.

Still waiting, tracked them and they are due to be delivered by 7:00 tomorrow. They are now sitting in the Herndon facility, which is probably like 20 minutes from us. Just our luck that they will not be on the morning truck and thus we will have to wait till Monday. Aaaahhhh well we will still get them. So in the meantime we are practising our dance steps.

Olivia where are you????? I have sent you a couple of emails with no response, yet I know your email is correct since you responded from the Silver Sea ship.

I'm sure you are right Joanna on both counts. Of course if you lived in Reston now, your kids might well go to South Lakes HS, although it would most likely depend on exactly where in Herndon you live.

See you soon!!!

How did you do with the earthquake? Feel anything?

We were still up at 1am when the first 6.2 earthquake hit. We then had a 6.3 and then a 6.7 within the hour. The one thing about earthquakes here is that they seem to last a long time. Still, the quake was around 100 miles away so we didn't have any damage or anything fall off the shelves.

Since then, we have had many quakes in the 3.0 to 5.0 range. I like the quakes; Arlene is still concerned about them.

Thanks for reporting; glad to hear no damage! I'm with Arlene!

My only exprience with an earthquake/aftershock was in Manila in 1970 (the Dark Ages now,) appx. 2-3 weeks after main quake hit. We were having dnner in the hotel on 6-7th? floor and I noticed chandelier shaking, chair wobbly, and at first attributed to the half glass of wine I had drunk! (Not much of a drinker then!) DH said afershock but I don't know that he had experienced such before!

We too are glad Marc that you are ok and no damage.

Still waiting for those docs, which are on the truck for delivery, but not here yet and we need to leave by 12:30, so with my luck, they will get here at 12:45  and they will leave a note and I guess bring them back Monday, as apparently a signature is required. Well better they don't sit on the front porch all weekend!!

Still room on one walking tour on Sunday, June 1st.

Meet at 2pm outside of St Mark's.

Quote
Even if you’ve been in Venice before you probably don’t know about the origins of the city, how the islands were built, how the buidlings were built, how they once got the drinking water, the timber, how is the sewage system and the like. Also, how the city became so important, how it survived, how it declined. Why many of the buildings look Moorish etc. Which is the present situation of the city and which perspectives for the future.

This tour takes you off the beaten track, normally we use the district of Castello to tell you about the city.

St Mark’s basilica plus intro takes three hours.
Cost will be $210 divided by the number on tour plus admissions. We can have up to 10 but six will move faster into St Mark's (not that big of a deal). Arlene and I are only ones so far but we can figure out if others want to go once we get onboard. Our guide will be Roberta whom others have praised.

See everyone soon!
