We arrived in Montreal on Sunday and stayed at the Loews Vogue Hotel. The hotel is wonderful and I highly recommend it. We boarded the ship yesterday just in time for a wonderful champagne lunch. We had a bit of excitement in the early evening...there was a bomb scare and all passengers had to remain in their cabins while the ship and the terminal areas were searched. We had a wonderful block party with several of our neighbors and shared a bottle of wine. Marcie, our next door neighbors were on the Regent WC in 2005 and will be joining you again in January for the full WC. I'll send you info when I return. We finally had a wonderful dinner in the Asian specialty restaurant, Jade Garden. We are leaving shortly for a brief city tour and then we will spend the rest of the day in the old city of Montreal. I'll try and send some more seamail later in the cruise.

Nancy,

Great hearing from you, but a bomb scare? You almost started with a real Bang! After that excitement it sounds wonderful. The weather must be pretty brisk up there as it is in Chicago. A nice autumn relief from Houston weather. Have a good safe trip & keep writing when you can.

Regards, Jackie

Nancy,

Glad to hear you are on the ship, and your great cruise has begun.

Isn't Montreal fun? And we really....really loved Quebec City. What a charming place!

Enjoy, enjoy!!!! Thanks for the SeaMail!

Thanks for posting, Nancy. Did you arrange the block party or is that part of Symphony's program? Have a fun day in Montreal. Looking forward to more reports.

Nancy - glad you were able to get into Jade Garden for dinner and that the bomb scare turned out to be just that.

Montreal is a lovely city. Hope you enjoyed the visit and we look forward to more c-mail! Cheers, Anne

Nancy: Thanks for the mail - glad the bomb scare did not impact start of your cruise - a block party and wine was the way to handle it! Yes you are missed ! Joanna

thanks everyone for your well wishes. WE had a wonderful day in Montreal and we sail later for Quebec City.

Donna, the block party was our idea and reminded me off what you all have done on Regent. Also, there were free drinks in all of the bars after the bomb scare was over.

Catch up with everyone later.

Hi Nancy,

Just catching up with your seamail. So good to hear from you and know all is well after such a scare! I bet lots of people needed lots of drinks before, during and after that bomb scare!

I hope you and Larry have a wonderful time. I know how much you've been looking forward to this cruise.

Miss you very much, my friend!

WE were in Quebec City yesterday but it was very cold and windy. However, we did a great walking tour of the old city and later went to St. Anne de Beaupre Basillica and Montmernency Falls. Today is the first seaday and we have alot of great things to do.

Later, Nancy

Oh yes, the leaves are well on their way here in Toronto, and we're well south of Quebec.

We had two wonderful seadays although the ride wasn't so smooth Thursday evening. We docked in Halifx today and the weather is much better. We went to Mahone Bay and Lunenburg and enjoyed our excursion. We will be in Saint John New Brunswick tomorrow. So far, besides the bomb scare, everything is going well. We have wonderful tablemates and have really enjoyed our dinners together. We have been to both of the specialty restaurants and our dinners were fantastic. The internet access is very, very slow at times. I'll report back in the next day or so. I haven't read any of the threads but will when we return.

WE spent Sunday in Saint John doing a trolly tour and the weather was finally sunny but a bit cold. On Monday we were in Bar Harbor and the weather was great, sunny and cool. Bar Harbor is beautiful and we went on a wonderful tour of the Acadia National Park. The color of the leaves were spectacular. We spend Tuesday in Boston and did a tour of Marblehead and Salem and walked around parts of Boston. Today is our final seaday and we will be in Newport tomorrow. We continue to have a great time and the cruise has exceeded my expectations. WE have met some great people and our tablemates are the best! One of the couples is from Sydney Australia and they are so much fun. We seem to be the last ones out of the dining room when we are there. We had another wonderful dinner in Jade Garden last evening. Well, off to breakfast, my manicure and the rest of the days activities.

Nancy,
Your cruise sounds wonderful. When we did Acadia Park, it was way cold. Guess I need to go back! Boston is such a great city! And I see you are scheduling time for some pampering. :) That's a good thing!!
Thanks for the SeaMail....keep having fun!!!
cheer

Lucky you, Nancy to see the leaves turning in Acadia. Would have loved to have seen that when we were there (too early!)

You're having a beautiful time, Nancy!! Isn't leaf-peeping fantastic? The colors are beyond brilliant! This is a cruise Alan and I hope to do sometime in the near future.

I hope the rest of your cruise remains sunny and incredibly wonderful!

Miss you, my friend!!!

Thanks Marcie and Joanna. I missed my LCT buddies. The cruise was great, just as good as my previous ones. It's good to be home.
