Great pictures Ken, as always. Thanks for posting them.
Sounds like everyone is still having a great time.
Those rocky seas don't sound fun though.

P&R, Glad to hear it is bright and sunny in Bora Bora today. Enjoy your snorking tour. Wish I could have been there last night to hear about all things safari. Though I won't be on ROAR 2, I will be in Madikwe Hills next fall on a stopover from the Navigator DC cruise. Fill us non-LAMBsters in on what happened!!

12:45 PM - I think it may be clearing a tiny bit but this morning was rain off and on - did not stop some from raving about the wave runner tour - they flew by our balcony waving this am - then realized while tendering back it was Michele and Don and John and Kathy on the runners!! - such a pretty place I hope it does clear SOON! Dinner in Signatures last night - very good - we can take tender to PG and think we may do that this afternoon - I don't know why but so few pixs taken this cruise - Ken, of course, has some great ones but just don't remember hearing "cheese" very often - Carol and Ralph and Jan and Jim just cruised computer alley - everyone having fun -

Overcast day in Bora Bora. Little sprinkles of rain with the sun poking through now and then. Bora Bora is really beautiful in sunlight so I hope it improves as the day wears on.
We had to get up at 6.30 am in this morning to clear customs at 7.00 am since we are debarking in Papeete. TOO EARLY. We staggered down to be "approved". I actually came back and laid down again and caught a few more winks.
Then off to Bora Bora where we took the Paul Gauguin tender and went to visit the PG. It is a lovely little ship. Not been on board since PIP and the changes made in the casino area and the La Verandah are wonderful improvements. So that was fun. We stopped with Valerie and Chuck in La Palette and had a coffee.
Then we came back to Bora Bora and walked around a little. It has not changed still the same tiny place with all the Pearl stores. Decided to not do much here today, we have been to Bora Bora many times. We just made this a lazy day.
Back to the Mariner for a GREAT lunch it really hit the spot today. Wonderful beef!
A POOCH game has been requested so the die hard addicts will be pooching at 2.00 pm again. Thought I had played my last pooch game but the ladies have another chance to beat the alpha males.
Cannot believe I have to get off this ship in two days. I am going to be so sad when the ship sails away. I will be waving from the PG deck. I promise to try to post the winner of the free cruise before I depart the ship. If I dont make it then I know one of the LAMBS will post that.
Tonight the jazz band is NOT playing in Stars so we may have some dancing going on tonight. The jazz group is really sensational but it has put the damper on the dancing activity. As much as I like the dancing it has been such a wonderful relaxing cruise. Dancing creates some REALLY late nights. There is also more conversations after dinner in the Observation Lounge which have also been really enjoyable. It really has allowed us to get to know people better as it is harder to communciate with loud music and dancing. I guess either way is great you cant go wrong!

Greetings....
This cruise is great, but I haven't met most of you LCT-ers....where are you guys? I met a gal who ran into Jim B and Jan, I found Jeffrey of Shipless in Seattle on the pool deck, and a great gal, Arlene in Horizoons and other venues.
Does LCT have a meet and Mingle? Or is it just the B&K event? I've been posting with you all for so long, it would be nice to meet. It's a great cruise....Jini (Ms. J.)

Greetings, again!
Now I'm logged in - Looking forward to running into other LCT-ers....Fred and Pat told me to inquire about a meet and greet. Some of us LCT-ers who have posted for months are not booked by B&K. We're sort of "out there" on our own.
If I recognize you by your photo, I'll introduce myself. If you see my nametag in rhinestones ("Jini"), say hello. I'm really enjoying this cruise! Jini

We meet in the Stars Lounge before dinner most evenings and we will be doing that tonight the 9th. You will see a sign outside tonight but come on in and meet everyone.
On the 11th we will be there and the sign will be out but that event is only for B&K guests - sorry.
We wont be back there until I think the 14th. If the B&K LAMB sign is up that means we are in there. Please feel free to come on in and meet everyone.

We are watching the umpteenth re-run of "Lonesome Dove" tonight. Waiting to hear how the rest of the trip goes, esp. "Dancing with (in?) the Stars" and the cruise winner.

Wow, those shots from both decks of the PG and Mariner you won't see very often. So cool! It's good to hear that Bora Bora has not changed much and is still the sleepy little village. Pat

Good Morning from Moorea....it's kind of drizzly outside but hoping it clears up. We rented ATVs and will be getting off soon. Fun dinner last night in CR with Franck (F&B Mgr) and Louise (Social Hostess). After dinner Ngaire & Ken joined us for after dinner drinks then most of us LAMBS were off to STARS for a night of fun! Too much sambucca, too much dancing, too much laughing, too much fun......LIFE IS GREAT!
We sure are loving this cruise!!

What do you do on a rainy day in Moorea? Go snorkeling of course. The rain won't bother us, Alan and I will be wet already. This will be our second day of snorkeling in the rain, yesterday it was Bora Bora. Love seeing those rays glide by and the coral gardens on Bora Bora were beautiful through the raindrops.
Finally dancing in Starz last night. Lots of fun and laughs but not enough sleep!
More later.

Today was such a hoot! We (Joanna, Tony, Karen, Mark, Tom and me) went out on the ATVs. It was dry for the first few minutes and then the drizzle started. That too was short lived....next came heavy down pour. We were all absolutely drenched! We rode up and down very bumpy rocky roads, in and out of puddles. We had so much fun but really looked like a bunch of drowned rats. The scenery was gorgeous. The guys did all the driving while we sat in the back so they actually got wetter than we did, if that's possible. It was a 3 hour excursion and when we returned we couldn't WAIT to change out of dripping wet clothes and get dry! Ahhhhh.....relief! All I could think about was getting an Irish coffee ASAP. After changing, we hung out in Observation Lounge at the bar until La Veranda opened at noon. Hot soup....perfect for a day in the tropics!
Nothing planned this afternoon until trivia so I'll walk the halls looking for action. Just met Jini here in computer alley! So happy to finally run into her and she's going to join our pre-dinner cocktails in STARS.

1:15 PM - Raining today we were up early - 6 of us took our 8 AM ATV 3 hr tour.....what a miserable day, weather wise, but didn't stop us from having a memorable adventure..we all were soaked despite wearing rain honchos BUT there were many laughs and that's what we'll remember - JINI just introduced herself to me she is now next to me on computer (Marcie too)- we told her to come to Stars tonight and she'll meet many others - so happy to meet her!!! Last night we had dinner in CR and partied in Stars FUN!! I think this afternoon will be nap afternoon due to the weather - that works for me -

Great to meet Jini! We are looking forward to spending more time with her tonight at cocktail hour.
We had a blast on Bora Bora yesterday. 4 of us (John & Kathy, Don & I) rented a very small speed boat for cocktails at sunset. What a riot that was! Our Captain/guide took us over the lagoon all around the island while serenading us & playing his little guitar, Tahitian style. We got to buzz the Mariner, zipping around toasting everyone who happened to be out on their balconies. It was great fun seeing Joanna, Tony, Marcie, Tom, Jim & Jan B., & Alan & Donna waving from their balconies! It was quite a day doing waverunners in the morning & then the speed boat in the evening.
Our photography & snorkeling trips were cancelled due to the rain today on Moorea so we are just going to enjoy the lazy day. It's so beautiful no matter what.

I am trying to get all 4 pages read at once now that I am home briefly.
I am glad Air New Zealand worked out.
Hearing about the lambs is interesting. On SS, there were many from Australia, and there were many NZ questions and a lot of trivia on them. One was the number of sheep per person in NZ. Having lived near there so long ago and getting so much of our food from there, it is interesting to hear about.
It is interesting about the oldest Beatle because on Voyager, they asked this question, and I said Ringo and was just sure. They told it was John Lennon, so we missed it. Now I Googled it, and I was right! This SS cruise there was some question about which Beatle didn't have a mustache in some particular year. We missed that!
The dancing with the stars sounds interesting but time consuming. I imagine it will be worth it.
Someone on SS mentioned Pooch while we were at the golf putting contest one day. My ears purked right up.

We survived the atv tour as the girls said in the pouring down rain! As miserable as the weather was, we managed to laugh a lot. Just looking at each other set us off on another laughing spell! Let's hope tomorrows weather is better than today's! Yesterday, Mark and I did the underwater helmet walk. What a blast that was!! We were surrounded by zillions of the prettiest fish and also to sting rays!
I am glad to see the Pearlies are on their way, I am excited to see them! Sorry this is so short but I have to go get ready for dinner, I haven't eaten in 2 hours so it must be dinner time ;)

Karen, we also did the underwater helmet walk the last time we were in Bora Bora--it's one of my favorite excursions of all time. The helmet is a little heavy before you get in the water, but after that it's just pure wonder at the fish and the underwater scenery. You go down about 10-12 feet with a bag of bread and the fish immediately surround you. You can actually walk around on the sea floor, but there's a rope to hang on to, so you don't get too far away from the boat. They pump air into the helmet which is heavy enough to keep you from floating to the top. We really loved doing it and would do it again in a heartbeat. In fact, we're going to be in Aruba in January and may do it again while we're there. Debbie, next time you get a chance, be sure to do it!

Hi again from our 2nd morning in Moorea. We sail for Papeete sometime in the early afternoon - who can keep track of time in paradise - and tonight we have the big party with the PEARLS. I know Ken will get some great pictures, as long as he stops posting photos of my mother and saying they are me. And my mother isn't even on this cruise. :D :D The weather has not been kind but it hasn't slowed me down. I was able to get my last tour in yesterday before the tours were canceled. Moorea is wonderful - even in the pouring rain. I found it to be much nicer than Bora Bora. Another passenger asked our Moorean guide what she thought made the difference in the 2 islands and the guide's answer was, "We care." Thought it a great response. I did the island tour and the Belvedere. It was raining so hard we could not see a thing from the Belvedere, but I was 1 of 2 that got off the bus and bought a postcard - so I now know how it is suppose to look. Also could enjoy all the various vegetation and the people and their homes. The kids are out of school for summer vacation so you see them all over the island. I found Bora Bora to be somewhat disappointing. Ngaire said if the sun had been shining the appeal of the beautiful waters would have been evident. While everyone else was doing something adventurous in the water, I was bouncing around the island in "Le Truck," in weather that equals Houston's most humid day ever. Due to all the rain much of road was washed out so we did literary bounce around the island. I am glad I was able to see the island and hotels, but after hearing the prices I don't think I'll need to return. I was looking forward to a drink at Bloody Mary's but it is closed until January for renovations. We did get out and take pictures so I can "prove" I was there. And after seeing the prices listed for 1 drink, I say thank you Polynesian gods for smiling on us with those renovations. That afternoon took the tender over to tour the Paul Gaugin. Enjoyed seeing it and understand now why so many of you love it. They had hung a sign on the side of the ship, "Welcome Big Sister." Very special. Wait - I just glanced out the window and there is sun shining on a small section of Moorea. Maybe having the PEARLS so close is bringing us luck. Good grief - I have rambled on about nothing. But have to end this post as I always have. This is one fantastic cruise and great group of LCTers. Wish you all could be along.

Betty and Joanna, thanks for checking in with us today. So glad to hear that the sun is coming out. Betty, glad you were able to take your tour yesterday. Hope everyone has a wonderful dinner this evening with the Pearl cruisers.

What a glorious day...finally! It is beautiful and the water is the beautiful colors these islands are known for. Tom has dancing practice so we'll probably stay onboard this morning and get off this afternoon in Tahiti. The dancing routine is coming along nicely and I think they have about 1/2 of it choreographed. It is a lot of practice for all the contestants but everyone seems to be loving it. Tom's style and Louise's style are totally opposite so they're trying to kinda meet in the middle.
Our dinner in Joanna & Tony's cabin last night was fabulous! It was so relaxed and fun. Regent and Jeeves did a great job and all we had to do was walk next door (actually we enter and exit via our adjoining balconies!) The Chateaubriand (sp) was great!
Tomorrow night the Matassas and Mondaes are having a small joint cocktail party in our suites followed by dinner with Ralph and Carol Webster. Thursday it's dinner with Steph who we've become such good friends with since 2005 WC. So happy he's visiting our ship for a few days (leave from Nuka Hiva). It was a great surprise for us. We're just so sad that Ngaire and Ken have to get off tomorrow! :lct:
