Good morning from the Mariner. Today we are sailing the inside passage toward Prince Rupert BC. Yesterday we got to do what I've been dreaming about for years; we visited the Boeing Factory. What a treat!
Last night we dined at Latitudes. It was by far the best meal we've had on board. On top of that, Tonya didn't spill any wine from the stemless wine glasses.
We are having a wonderful cruise so far. We have a wine tasting at 10:45 this morning!! Tonya gets a massage at 3. Life is good!! Jackie and Dennis (Travelcat) are so nice. I will post photos later (with their permission of course!)

Great photos John.

We love Diamond Heart Duo and were disappointed to find out they were not going to be on Voyager next week, now we know why, they are with you!!

Looks like you are having a great trip, nice that its longer than the normal 7 day.

Keep those comments coming. Those of us who will be on the next cruise, starting 5/27, are really getting excited about the upcoming trip. We can't wait to hear your report from ports that we'll be visiting.

John can take my picture -- as long as I'm not outside with it standing up on end (not a pretty sight)

Last night I learned that Latitudes is going to be complete redone (closed kitchen - different offerings) La Varanda and the pool deck dining area is being redone (perhaps due to tight quarters arround the buffet at lunch.

The coffee area is so wonderful -- I don't even drink coffee (well, not often). . . it's open -- spacious with wonderful access to the computer room and library. I tend to pick a computer in the hallway by the window

The pool was emptied, painted and refilled in S.F. Balcony rails being varnished today. It seems that the major refurbishing is not going to wait for the 10 day dry dock in January - it's ongoing.

We're looking forward to having dinner with John, Tonya, Sue and Ray. We all been running around so much -- haven't even had time for trivia.

Looking forward to having the focus group later this afternoon. cheer to all!

Jackie

Thanks for the report, Jackie. Sounds like the Mariner is getting into ship-shape for the Grandest Adventures. It will be interesting to see just how much of the ship is shown in the reality show.

We were without internet access today. So, rather that write another post under the influence of a chocolate martini. . . I just did a long (not argumentative) post in CC. I'm sure John will be posting tomorrow.

Really a lovely cruise. Wish all of you were here!

Radio silence for a while but here are some new photos: Incuding one of Jackie and Dennis (Travelcat). What a fun couple.

http://www.worldflyer.net/alaska/inside1/

Prince Rupert was a quiet town with not a lot going on. Most of the excursions were geared more toward the adventurous which our crew did not feel like conquering. We instead decided to conquer the pile of dirty clothes and fill the ever emptying glasses of Pinot Grigio. We've met some great poeple on this cruise. Jackie and Dennis are wonderful. EVerone on KOALA will truly enjoy their company. We met another couple from South Florida (Greg & Vivian) who have helped us close down Stars and the Casino.

Off to bed for now. TOmorrow is Tracey Arm and our anniversary dinner in Signitures!

Good Night!

We took the grizzly bear boat trip yesterday. It was thrilling & we saw 7 grizzlies including a mother & her 2 cubs. Also on the excursion were Valerie & Chuck, whom I met & later had tea with.

Today is Tracey Arm cruising. The gold/plat/tit event will be in the bow during the scenic cruising.

Good morning from the Mariner. It's a beautiful morning for our start up Tracey Arm. We're hoping it continues throughout the day!

Quick note from the Society party the other night. There are 625 guests on board right now; 400 are repeaters!

We enjoyed just a perfect day yesterday. Captain Romeo had to cancel the Tracey Arm Cruising due to too much ice. Instead we cruised up an even more spectacular site, Endicott Fjord which ended at Dawes Glacier. Every turn was more spectacular than the last.

The day ended with an incredible dinner at Signatures. The food and the service were perfect. We could not have had a better day (but there's always today!)

Here are some photos from the past couple of days:

Hello from a warm and sunny Ketchikan. Yep, that's right. It's sunny and 84 degrees today. One of the 10 rain free days they get every year. The weather on this trip has been perfect. Yesterday is was in the mid 80's in Juneau and the upper 70's in Skagway.

We just got back from a crab feast at St. George Inlet. It was a lot of fun and the crab was delicious.

I'll post pictures of Ketchikan later, but here are some pictures from our train ride in Skagway and our whale quest yesterday in Juneau. We're having a great time. It's hard to believe it's almost over. We have a sea day tomorrow then we arrive in Vancouver early Tuesday.

Here are the pics

John, Tonya, Sue and Jay really had a great time on their crab excursion today (had cocktails with them -- they are so full of crab:-)

The weather is amazing (wish I had packed for a heat wave). Had to buy a t-shirt today -- did not pack anything warm.

Alaska is truly amazing -- especially for those of us who have not been here before.

Still cannot say enough positive things about the crew and service on the Mariner. Even though we prefer the layout of the Voyager, this is an incredible ship. Definitely don't want it to end (especially not so soon). ;)
