Google has this great new download that lets you see satellite images of places all over the world. Download the software and install it then type in a place to see. Someone mentioned google maps a few months ago, this is different. I can actually see my mother's car in her driveway. Also saw cruise ships in port in St. Petersburg, Russia. Not sure how old the images are. Some areas are more clear then others. It can zoom all over the world. A teacher at school told me about it today and I've been traveling all over the earth. http://earth.google.com/

Duh!! Where was I when this was first put out??? Busy week at school, I guess.
Robert, The picture of my mom's duplex is over a year old. I see construction behind her place and it was finished when she moved in. I live in a blur. No real photos of Wilson. It sure is fun to zoom all over the world. You can actually see a cruise ship where we docked in St. Petersburg, Russia this summer. Not the Voyager, though. You can sure spend alot of time there. Fun site!!

The photos of where I live are 5 years old. There is a shopping center that is just being built in the photos that's been there a long time. There are clouds in a lot of the areas outside the US. (weather satellites?) Here I think they use US topo maps that are shot from aircraft every few years. I could be wrong but that's about the resolution for topo maps.
Anyway what will they think of next. It's neat to check out all the places where you have been and are going.

Joanna, my computer at home is so old I can't even download the program, but in the office, I get the same thing on my property. I think I can spot my pond, but not the house, and both happened at the same time. But in Washington D.C. I can zero in much closer with a clear picture.
I had fun going through the Grand Canyon!
