I am just waiting for this to print Karen, and saw your post. BELIEVE ME... he has already asked. They won;t let him have it in the ICU or the regular room either! I think the withdrawal will be the worst part in the next several days.

He will sure have time to catch up though when he is home.

Arlene, You sound so relieved. We didn't get to see you folks in 2005 and are in Levin withdrawal!! What a scare. Both you and Marc should think of only the good things ahead.

Marc and Arlene,

I hope today is a far better day for you both!

Marc,

Have you worked out the per diem rate comparision - ICU vs. RSSC? I hope in your computations you take into account ICU has no balcony and in-room bar set-up! Is ICU all-inclusive? And, the meals!! Not up to CR standards, for sure! And, did hospital staff serve Arlene cinnamon ice cream while sitting in the waiting room? I think not! :D

Some people will do anything to get some R&R before ROAR! ;) Hope you are out of that bed (no down comforter and pillows/duvet) soon!

Take care!Love from Alan and me!

Hi Everyone,

Just a quick note to fill you all in...

Marc is doing really well. They finally moved him to a regular room tonight. Believe it or not he walked down the hall to his room competly on his own. The nurses in the ICU had to tell him to wait for someone to go with him! He had been through a lot, but has really been a dream patient for them. We are thinking he will be able to come home (and thus start posting again) on Wednesday, maybe Tuesday if we are lucky.

Thank you all so much for thinking about him and for praying for him.

Great news, Arlene. All's well that ends well. You are a trooper and he is lucky to have you. And you are lucky to have him. Our best to you both. Please tell Marc we are looking forward to hearing from him again.

Tell him I was thinking of him as I got some very expensive vintage port and thought this isn't as good as that left over, special vintage port they served Marc and me on our last cruise together. Yum.

Yes, if he doesn't behave himself and rest, then he will wear his resistance down. He needs his strength to heal!

Wonderful to hear how well Marc is doing! It's very hard to be a patient patient. Hopefully, Marc will give himself the necessary time to heal. He's got a big trip - ROAR - coming up soon and he needs to pace himself now.

Our very best to you both! Thanks for giving us the much appreciated update. We're thinking of you both!

Just catching up. I'm so glad that the surgery went well - continuing to send hugs and prayers your way.

You reminded me - last time Dad was in the hospital I took him his dopp (sp?) kit. I forgot to check it first and he enjoyed several airplane sized bottles of scotch in his hospital room!

Cruisinfanatic - JoAnn:

How wonderful to hear of your healing after losing a malignant kidney, lymph gland, adrenal gland, etc. and here you are all perky like nothing had happened just a year later. May you get the "all clear" signal when you visit the medicos within the next several weeks.

Curiouscruiser: Sue

Now you're a good daughter! Enjoyed reading about your Dad's surprise delight in having a few "belts" while hospitalized even though you didn't realize the dopp kit you delivered to him contained several airline size bottles of scotch.

Marc:

You obviously know how to work thru pain as a result of an old arthritic condition and am pleased to hear you are giving the nurses a bit of grief with your urge to move on. Obviously you're in the healing mode.

Well done. Well done, indeed!

Cheers! Ray & Penny

Lion's, elephants, monkey's,hippo's and giraffs are powerful motivators. Marc has been an enthusiastic ROARer since day one so he won't miss this I bet
