I wanted to ask everyone to keep Marc in your thoughts and prayers tomorrow.

We found out a few weeks ago that Marc has a large (10cm) tumor on his left kidney. He is going in for surgery tomorrow morning. So far they are pretty sure it is benign, so that is good news. The doctors couldn't tell from the CT or MRI if the tumor is laying up against the kidney or attached to it. The best case scenario is that it is just laying up against it, but not attached and they can remove it without involving the kidney. The next best is that it is attached to the kideny but only minimumly and they can reomove it and only need to remove part of the kidney. Worst case it that it is involved with the kidney and all the blood vessels and the hylem (sp) and they will have to remove the entire kidney in order to remove the tumor. Of course they won't know until they are able to actualy get in there and look around.

I know there are hundreds of surgeries performed every day, but it is still scary when it happens to someone you love so much.

In any case, if you think about it tomorrow, please, please send good thoughts his way, OK?

Marc and Arlene,

Please know that Alan and I will keep you both in our thoughts and prayers for a good outcome. It is never easy to go through any type of surgery or to be the loved one of someone undergoing surgery.

You are both very special participants on LCT, as well as wonderful travelmates. A lot of positive thoughts are being sent your way, as well as a big hug.

Please let us know how things are going. You have so many friends who care about you both.

Denise & Alan

ARLENE -

If good thoughts will do it, MArc will be just fine. You & Marc will be in my thoughts and prayers, and I am sure all of LCT will be with you.

Please let us know how things go.

Arlene, thank you so very much for letting us know about Marc. Marc has been a part of my daily routine for years now and your news was the same as if hearing it about a family member.

Please tell Marc that I am thinking about him and I am hoping for the very best. I promise you that I will send good thoughts his way all day tomorrow. I hope you can find time to let us know how it went.
xoxo

I had sent a note to Arlene last night and received an email from her this morning.

She has given me their cell phone number to call her later in the day to get an update on Marc's condition. Arlene asked that I post after speaking with her, which I will do.

Marc/Arlene, so many are thinking of you this morning and wishing you a most favorable outcome!

Arlene - will be thinking of you both and hoping for the best outcome.

This is like dejavue (sp). It was not quite a year ago that I went thru the same thing, although they knew immediately that it was malignant and very large and there was no question what they would do - removed the whole kidney and all surrounding lymph glands, adrenal gland, etc. Its been almost a year now and so far I am feeling fine and my six month check up was clear.
Coming up on that big 1 year check up in three weeks - so I really can relate to what you and Marc are going thru. The fact that they think its benign is defintely positive!
Please keep us updated when you have a chance, and my prayers will be with you both. The love, caring, prayers and positive thoughts from the people on this board really do make a difference, and from the many posts already, you can see that you have a powerful force with you.

Marc & Arlene - Pat & I send our best and will light a candle for you (and for your surgeons - good thought, Anne). With the time difference between here and the East Coast, the procedure may be successfully over by now. During his recovery (which we pray will be short and easy), Marc will have lots of time to post, right? Cheers, Fred
