I just looked up from my desk, saw the sun at its typical fall angle, and wondered where the summer, actually the whole year, has gone.

The older I get, the more "lost time" there is.

Just thinking aloud. No need to reply.

I know what you mean, Diane. We have lived in Texas for 3 years now but it feels like one year to me. Time is just whizzing by!

Are you kidding me?? You've been in TX for 3 years? WOW!!! I think it's just one year, seriously. Check your tax returns.

Well, I'm happy with the "whizzing by" if it means that the snow falls soon!! Vail Dec. 4-11!!!! Gotta love that eBay timeshare for $1.

Then.. before we know it... we'll be on FUN2!! Remember when it was just like about 10 people???? Now it's like 100????? How FUN is that going to be!!!

Not yet, Jim! My hairdresser sounds like the "talking pot hole girl" commercial and she makes me giggle every time I hear her! And I still pronounce "you" with one syllable instead of the two syllable Yoo-oooo like the Texans do!

Just in case you don't know what I am talking about, here is the talking pothole commercial :)

If you're still daying you instead of y'all you haven't started talking Texan yet. When you find yourself saying "fixin' to" then you've gone to the other side.

Good thread, Diane. Since I retired 4 years ago, I've worked part-time. Now, I haven't worked since mid August and I wonder what I do all day. Then I'll look on a counter or a place in the dining room and that pile of stuff is gone. So I must have done something to get rid of that mess. I'm enjoying ridding myself of a bunch of stuff to make room for the lovely items I acquired when my mom died.

Karen, Not sure what expression you use, I say "turn off the light." There have only been a few times I've used a knob to turn lights on and off. Guess I flip off the lights most of the time. There is an expression used in NC - "Will you carry me to the store?" which you can visualize. Not sure I want to do that for my friends!!

oohhhh! The "talking pot hole girl" cracks me up!!!

Yea, the carry me to the store phrase seemed so odd to me when I heard that living in West TN for while as a kid. Funny that up in New England, the grocery store carts are called carriages.

How about "Where do you stay?" Meaning, where do you live? Heard that a lot too in TN.

Diane,
Has it really been a year since we were mesmerized by the Polar Bears? One of the neatest trips I have done. We had fun. (And I still haven't completed my travel diary of the trip!!!!!!)
