Ngaire has given permission for the Private Message feature to be open. She was worried about space on the server, however the issue has been resolved.
This feature will allow members to send private messages to each other. The button is next to the Email user button. When you receive a new "PM" you will be notified next to your log on info. :)

Being technically challenged I did not know where to find "Private Messaging" or how to use it. Pretty simple really. Go to a post of someone you want to message. Hit the little envelope with the two people shaking hands. Bingo - a box to type your private message, then hit send. It has been really handy as Karen, John and I have been setting this up. Saves you getting out of the site and going to email.

I just read one and responded. It seems that it was automatically deleted. I didn't chek box it or anything, it just went away. To me it's handy to have them vanish after handling. Maybe it saves space or something?

For me when I go to "my profile" I see two areas, one is for messages (private) that I have sent and the other is for received. Maybe your preferences are auto deleting?

I couldn't find that particular option. I get the same 2 areas but 0 incoming/1 outgoing. It doesn't really matter. I like a tidy inbox. :)
