JoAnne, we are doing the Transatlantic crossing on August 31st from Dover and finish in Ny on September 14th.

Olivia, I think if you really compared the cost of an equivalent cabin, really apples to apples, Crystal could be higher but not positive. We haven't had a balcony cabin on our last few itineraries because the weather didn't warrant it. The lowest category cabins on Regent, except for PG are much larger than the standard cabins on Crystal. You would have to have the lowest category Penthouse category to compete with the Voyager's smallest cabins. The price of the Crystal penthouse smallest suite is outrageous. We don't spend lots of time in our cabin so we're very happy with what Crystal offers. The standard cabins are really nice. The single supplement on the non-penthouse cabins is quite attractive. In regards to dinner, we always have late seating (8:30) and have had wonderful tablemates. We request a table for 8 in the dining room. The specialty restaurants as well as breakfast and lunch in the dining room are open seating. Crystal can't accomdate open seating in the dining room during dinner due to the size of the dining room vs. the number of passengers. I'm sure at some point the smoking policy will change on Crystal. Forgot to mention that I find the alcohol pricing to be very fair. I feel you're paying for this one way or another, either upfront or not.

If we had tried Regent first or the other luxury lines, I wouldn't be writing about Crystal.

Hope this helps. I'm glad to hear that Susan will be able to assist with Crystal if anyone is interested in Crystal

Nancy

PS. Joanna/Betty, thanks for your kind words
