Doug, how did you choose your restaurants? Only thing I'd do is add the Vatican as a definite, even if it meant less shopping, as shopping is just over the top expensive in Europe with the devalued dollar.
I would recommend a restaurant we enjoyed a few years ago for dinner, but the reason we liked it was because it was outside dining, and that might not be an option in mid-late October.
