I've been trying to book award tickets for a trip to Europe next summer on BA, there are no return flights from LHR to SFO all summer and I've been looking for two months. Just for fun I looked at United's site....and there are tickets. Of course, most of my miles now are with BA or Delta. I miss the days of NWA and being able to use Continental's user friendly site to find award tickets. I switched to BA a few years ago because I was frustrated with Delta when they merged with NWA. I still have 200,000 difficult to use Delta miles. Enough ranting, what are the best airlines for being able to get award tickets to Europe? United? American? I know I can use my BA miles for American but I've been trying to use a 2-4-1 voucher for miles for BA and it has to be on BA planes. I think it's time for me to just completely switch loyalty but if I switch to United you can't top up your account with Amex miles. I remember when you could fly round trip to Europe in biz on NWA for 80k miles, sure seems like a long time ago!
