What is sad about this whole experience, is that RSSC gets all kinds of press when there is a cruise ship stop at Port Hueneme. In May, the Mariner left for Alaska on the first Alaska Cruise of the season and they even had a big group depart from Ventura County. Being it's a primarly a Naval port and used for shipping, it only has had the Mariner visit in the past. I guess the port authority isn't used to much people traffic. There really is not much to do there at all and actually some of the surrounding neighborhoods are not all that great to be walking around. Go figure - maybe it'll be the last RSSC stop there. I met the mayor of Port Hueneme last year, maybe I ought to call her (ha ha)
