I have a resident fox, she/he is red and just stands and looks when I open the door...I've taken its picture and my cat isn't afraid, they seem to respect each other...so far.
As for squirrels...well, we had one called Alvin who would ring the doorbell and turn on the radio in the garage when he wanted his pecans...honest! Our local supplement to the newspaper did an article on Alvin 2 or 3 yrs. ago but he hasn't been around since Mousie the cat took up residence.
