BoraBora(day1)The photo's do not do these beautiful islands justice! It is very special to sit on your balcony watch these magnificent peaks come into view. Room Service again!!(he had the same thing again!!)I had stuffed french toast, delicious!)Can't say enough about the service on this ship! Perfection! Forgot to tell you about the things you can buy on the Motu, pareo's,pearls, jewelry. Fresh vanilla beans, very good price here. Bought my daughter a stingray in mother of pearl (a pendant)to honor her surviving her attack in Mexico a few weeks ago(she is still recovering)Don't worry the rays in FP are used to people, and they look forward to their lunch! Just be sure to shuffle your feet when going into the water from shore, she didn't and stepped right on one). Any way, today we went on the off road adventure up into the mountains. Our guide Joe was very knowledgable and fun. Quite an experience. Don't wear white is all I have to say!! The views are fantastic, he serves fresh pineapple snack, takes you to a pearl factory, interesting, loved the stop at the artist studio. He handpaints pareo's They are unique, worth the $35 plus. Back to the ship for lunch, today was an Italian buffet, pretty good, Pasta Carbonara, pizza, ossobuco, tirimisu, on and on!! then we just rested in our stateroom. Storm came, windy and rainy. We read and relaxed until dinner, Dinner was very good, we had to wait for a table for two. Franco, sent us to the casino bar for complementary cocktails. Then time for the Gaughines Show. They are lovely talented girls.

BoraBora,Day two. We are loving these breakfasts on our private balcony, soaking up the sea air and views. Yes, he had eggs benedict again!! The pineapple is the best we have ever had. Sooo Sweet! This a.m. I am doing the shark and ray excursion. BH is staying on board. I loved this excursion!! Ramon the guide(shark boy)is wonderful. So many rays and sharks too! You are surrounded!! Open water, but felt very safe! though I kept my eye on those sharks! Ramon took me out to look for an octupus, he found one! brought it back (gross) put it on his head then another PGr actually put it on his own face!! kind of stuck there.. Saw a puffer fish tood. Many beautiful and colorful fish and coral. Wash a wonderful morning. Would you believe it, I am hungry again!! Today lunch was French buffet, Calamari!! whatever loads of choices. pretty good. We enjoyed lunch. have read negatives about it in other threads, we thought it was better at times than dinner! Now off to the motu off BoraBora. Brought the faithful float with us since no chairs or lounges on the motu. Arrived to music and drinks. Decided to kayak here. Lots of fun tho there was some current here. No problem though. We had a very relaxed afternoon, reading and swimming etc. Weather much better this pm. than yesterday, understand a few squall s passed over the motu yesterday. At 5pm. they had a traditional ceremony for honeymooners and anniversary celibrants. We were the longest married!! 37 years, though there was a couple 98&93 celebrating there 33rd, they were a kick!!. They wrap you in a traditional quilt, put a crown of flowers on your head and take a photo(didn't buy,Ron hated the way he looked)Champagne and special cake. With the sun setting over Bora Bora in Background. I loved it!! Dinner tonight was very good. The best of the cruise in L'Etoile. French influence. Don't remember which night, but the moonfish is very good!!(might have been tonight) Back to stateroom, would you believe, more champagne and cake waiting!! GoodNite!

The anniversary celebration at La Palette I really do think is nice. Congratulations on 37 years that is fantastic. They do it so well on the PG I have wandered back there to watch before because it is so nice to see all the couples celebrating.

Great review, Jeanine! We will be celebrating our anniversary on our cruise Oct. 8 and I was wondering if the traditional ceremony for anniversary couples is included or not. Sound very nice.

Hi Girl! Yes it is, and worth going to. It happens at sunset, there is cake and champagne, be prepared to be photographed! Of course the photo will be extra. J
